@mrbulge remind me what that means?
Howdy!
Since we've recently figured out Subcategories, I've added Auto-Fight for Realm of Legends. Currently, we are allowing the player to press "fight" and to launch Special Attacks, but the game must remain on Auto-Fight for the entirety of the run. For the reasons I explained above, I think this is the best way to proceed with this. I've also added your run to this Auto-Fight Subcategory, @SuperDuperBuuu.
Cheers!
As the Category Rules state, timing starts when "READY" appears on the screen, and timing ends when "KO" appears on the screen. This goes for every "single fight" category.
Not every player has the new victory screen enabled, and not every player is able to activate it, either - especially older devices. On top of this, if we restricted runs to require the newer victory screen, it would be an additional hoop for players to jump through in order to have their run accepted, and it would alienate older videos that do not have that screen shown at the end of the fight. These timing parameters exist to create more consistency across speedruns, and more accessibility for players to submit runs.
Thanks for your understanding, and good run!
Hey all! First off, thank you for engaging on the page!
I just wanted to put out a quick post regarding the "start time" for single fight runs - previously, we would time them beginning from when the "fight" button is pressed. But now, in an effort to allow for more fairness between different loading speeds across devices, we're moving Start Time for single fights to when the "READY" text is shown at the beginning of the fight.
I will update every run to reflect this change, so you'll see all the times shift a bit.
Special thanks to Fintech for the suggestion!
Hey!
We may consider making this a category (or subcategory), but at a later time, when there's more engagement on the page, and enough interest for that specifically. Auto-play runs through RoL can become very long, and watching the footage to ensure the game stays on Auto for the entire duration, and that the player is not launching Special Attacks themselves is a lot to pay attention to when reviewing a speedrun.
We're definitely not against it for the future, though!
