the switch version actually ISNT 1080p at all. it runs at 900p when docked, and 720p in portable mode. the switch just upscales the 900p to 1080

well, i finally got around to doing some Shantae Any% runs..... First attempt was a 48:35. Did one more run before I had to cut stream and got a 45:01. :D

Now for how low I think this category can go? I could see a 43 or 42 happening, not sure how much lower than that it can go.

Some additional notes on Shantae, its absolutely worth the time to go get the Mother Brain transformation, as it makes Antibody Cell, the Underworld Lord, and the Multidimensional Over Lord much, MUCH faster, in addition to allowing you to skip through the area 5 dungeon by floating over the water, skipping waiting on the floating platforms. I plan on writing a Boss strat guide, but for now you can see my current boss strats when i upload my run in a little bit. Now if only someone could find a faster strat for Ancient Freeze, we would be set. My current strat is kinda slow, but by far the fastest I was able to figure out.

Some changes have been made to the leaderboards today, and will continue to be made throughout the week.

• DLC characters no longer are in the "Misc." section, and are instead under the EX Characters tab, seperated by sub-categories.

• Unlimited, Destroyer and Co-Op no longer have seperate tabs for Any% and 100%, and instead each mode has a single tab with Any% and 100% as sub-categories. Co-Op has also been moved out of the "Misc." section.

• Added an bit to the Co-Op categories rules that states it must be a 2-player Co-Op run, and not a 1p2c run.

One thing that still has yet to be done, and will be happening later this week, is adding a Legacy tab. With the release of Patch 1.3, Inti Creates has fixed the ceiling clipping glitch that was used in some 100% runs of the game. Runs using this glitch will be moved to a Legacy leaderboard to have them permanently documented, showing how the game was routed with said glitch. A new rule change will also be in effect, requiring all new runs to the main categories be using the most recent version of the game, as it is impossible for any run on patch 1.3 to beat a run done with the ceiling clip from 1.2 and before. As the ceiling clip was the only glitch currently in any routes that could be fixed, this should be the only situation where a patch causes a massive change in the time for a category.

The Legacy boards will be closed for submissions, and will be there purely to document the routes for old versions of the game. Active categories will always require the latest version of the game, and a patch will only cause runs to be moved to the legacy boards if it causes a major change in routing and time for the category. This seems like the best way to handle this fix without getting into a situation where we would all be forced to figure out ways to downgrade our BM Zero, which could get into needing to jailbreak, root, whatever your Switch.

yeah, if you watch a lot of the top runners of All Keys, we usually take intentional deaths in Palace 4 to refill our magic. As Pres said, all that matters is that its a 1CC, so you can die all you want and however you want, just cannot game over.

This actually affects normal 100% as well, since the way i did the routing was to wait until after killing zoidberg and then do the OoB to grab the life up on the way to area 6 after visiting the dungeon after the save point where you summon your tank.

starting a new file, and then unlocking and completing the alternate stage 5'. You cannot even access this stage unless youve done EVERYTHING else in the game (at least in the original Rondo, that is). Unlocking that stage requires 96% file completion, and completing it gets you to 100% file completion.

Good stuff to know. Shame about the eject jump not allowing hover though.

a cheap, effective capture solution would be a GV-USB2. they go for between 40 and 50 USD on amazon, and ive used one for a saturn with good results.

i was running Maria on my PC-Engine Duo, and then switched to running on Wii. My calculations were around 2 minutes lost to loading time. As far as difference between PC-Engine emulator and Wii, its about 35 seconds.

Well, nevermind. Even using the name to unlock all the levels, beating carmilla takes you to the normal stage 5 instead of the alternate stage 5'. route is a no-go :( was worth trying out though, would have been awesome had it panned out. Sorry for the false hype, everyone

yep, all its really doing is removing stages 6,7 and Dracula from the middle of the run and putting them at the end

anyways, heres the route ive come up with using this filename: start game, do current route up until after stage 5 and the cutscene following it, when you start in stage 6, soft reset. pick maria, start back at stage 1, do the alternate stages, after finishing the alternate stage 5', continue on to do 6,7 and dracula

well from rippers last post, it seems hes on board with allowing it also now, so id say 3 out of the 4 current runners is enough, lol. gonna start doing some runs with the new route ive theorycrafted in a little bit here.

i dont like the luck mode part of it, since its not luck mode (just uses the same name as sotn's luck mode). im trying to think of a better thing to affix to the name than that, but im coming up blank right now, lol
