if the quality is good enough and that you can hear the game it doesnt matter if you record with a phone or something but of course you should ask the mods the minimum requirements if you want to be sure

some games accept FCEUX, the accepted emulators should be in the rules of the category but if they are not ask either in the communitys own discord or in the game forums

and you cant really make a submission for a category that doesnt exist but you can always ask the games moderators if they would like to add the category for the game and then if they do add it you can submit your run there

if by "screen" you mean pc/laptop you dont need a capture card you just need to get a recording software but if you meant console gameplay do what Timmiluvs said

ive got the AVerMedia LGX (not sold anymore to my knowledge but the LGX2 is still sold) and it does hdmi and component recording with very low latency (1080p 60fps at max) i bought it for 150€ at the time and ive been really happy with it. my friend bought the LGX2 and he has been happy with that.

also from my friend's experience i wouldnt recommend the elgato, my friend constantly had problems with it. sometimes it just refused to show the video or audio. of course he might have just been unlucky but keep that in mind :P

im kinda confused now did you submit a run that was rejected for "being slow" or did you just randomly think of this?

but yeah the run doesnt have to be fast to be a speedrun

So yeah i record alot of stuff i do and for some reason the videos are many gigabytes. There is this video i recorded in 2019 it is 1:43 long in 720p 60fps and the file size is 38gb like what sense does that make then some videos are 8 plus hours long and are only around 15gb.

hey ox some old games can be run on Windows 10 too if you get it to install you can run it in windows xp compatibility mode (and if you dont get it to install on W10 you can install it on virtualbox and move the install folder to your W10)

i recently got Ape Escape 2 and 3 so i might do "fast playtroughs" of them someday

yeah could we get other platforms as options? there exists gc,ps2,xbox and pc versions of this game and i for somereason own the ps2 version and i was bored so i did a run and want to submit it but i cant really do that because the only platform option is gc

if they were in a category that was deleted the runs wont show up until you manually change the category on every run

most common ones are super mario 64: 16 star (20-30 min run) ocarina of time: no ace (20-35min)

personal recommendations: cat bird: marda ( 5 min mobile run) duke nukem (the first dos one ;D 8min platformer)
