I didn't make or have a toon to use, I just ended up battling with other toons, as is the nature of toontown. Should I switch my run to be solo?
So I'm a curator of Toontown Amino (not really related) but I met several friends through it, and for one of their birthdays I was gonna do a run of this. I noticed in the WR video that they don't skip the Toontorial. Is there a reason why that Is considered cheating, or at least not allowed in runs? Because it seems like it would be a lot faster
Odd, I know a marathon I submitted that allows people to edit and delete their own submissions, so I know it's at least possible, but I have no clue how it works.
I saw "Ooh a marathon" and planned a few games to submit, and when trying to submit one that actually was a shooter, my mind defaulted to a different game I submitted to a different marathon to submit first. I didn't plan to submit BiT Evolution, please remove it
There is an item that boosts your coins, but take this example:
In tracks like Wii's Maple Treeway or (an example actually in this game), Autumn Animal Crossing, notice that leaf piles can spawn items in normal races. Now notice how on No Items, they can't. That's because Mushrooms are still considered items, but overworld coins and coin items are different.
There's a leaderboard ingame, therefore making these pointless as well
I feel like it would be a good idea, people still run them, and the less blue shells the better
ok that's what they meant. I was a bit confused
The misc categories have subcategories seperated by the cup. If you're talking about wanting 100 or 50... I'm not sure.
I'd like to request a name change to LaurieDeBeaver to accomodate to the name changes I've recently made on several other social media sites.
I did a speedrun of the Easter Egg hunt in Rewritten
My only problem is, what's a category name that clears up exactly what the category is looking for. Once we find that, we can switch it. For now, I'm just defending why that's 100%
The best example of what I'm trying to defend is showcased in Donkey Kong Country 3. In that game, there are two endings. The normal ending is you saving Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong. Collecting all the bonuses in the levels before this ending will net you 100%. However, if you get the secret ending by beating all the Krematoa levels and saving all the Banana Birds, it grants you 103%. The game does this because it's impossible in the circumstances of the game to get the secret ending before the normal ending. Just like how Challenge Mode isn't unlocked until you beat the game, regardless of how many gold stars you have.;
On another note that just came into my head, a gold star isn't granted on 4-15 unless you get 20, 21 doesn't grant you a gold star. And all pixels would signify that 1201 is required. So that would bring up a problem as well, because there seems to be no other name for the category. The only option with that circumstance would be to split up all gold stars and all pixels, which would be an absolutely stupid thing to do.
It also seems like you're ignoring games with both content that doesn't add to the 100% (like the Tokens in Pac-Man World 2) and games with over 100% completion (basically any Donkey Kong Country game)
Now actually, this leads to another glitch I had with 100%, and that was, I don't know if it was a side-effect for collecting 21 pixels, but when I tried to play the Challenge Levels the first time I tried, the game wouldn't even let me into the World 4 Challenge Levels. That would basically register 1 category, and if 100% requires them, 2 categories, unfinishable runs.
I do not consider the Challenge Mode to be added to 100%, as the "Pixel Perfect" Steam Achievement requires 1200 and the image has 100% on it. If you'd like to change that, I'd recommend changing 100% to "All Gold Stars" as "All Pixels" implies 1201 pixels, which is over the amount recognizes is in the game (the achievement requires 1200 and also the world select shows 361/360 if collected until you reset the game)
Just to be safe, I renamed All Pixels to 100%, because the achievement for getting all the pixels in the game on Steam is for 1200 pixels. The category requirement will now be a gold star on every level, unless you get the aforementioned 21st pixel in 4-15.
Update on this: I just found out that when you exit the game and reload it, the game corrects this pixel number to 20. However, 4-15 will still not require 21.
So, recently, it has come to my attention during a playthrough that Blitzkrieg Blizzard (4-15) has 21 pixels instead of the ordinary 20. The All Pixels speedrun will NOT require you to collect 21 pixels in that level.
