Then I guess we need more marathons, as it's the second cool discovery within a span of a week made by a new player. Glad the community is becoming a bit more alive lately ^^
As for video guide, there is none I know of, neither for glitches nor the speedrun in general, unfortunately. Regarding scroll glitches in general, you could look up how these work in the original Castlevania, I'm sure there are some detailed explanations done by much more competent people than me, lmao. So far we didn't find any use for them in Pizza Cats, as the only cases it worked for us it either
a) created additional boulders, or
b) spawned a piece of solid wall instead of a ladder, blocking your path ahead.
Does not help that both Pikachu and I are too lazy to spend hours in TAS trying to replicate these and find something that most likely won't be useful at all.
If you're interested in learning any% category, quick kill glitch is the most important timesave, most of other stuff are just additional smaller gains. Feel free to hit me up on discord if you have any further questions about either of the categories.
Hi! To be fair, I've noted two instances of glitches within the run:
level 1: autoattack (00:57, after switching cat mid-attack in the air)
level 4: 04:10 - you madlad somehow managed to despawn two boulders via scroll glitch
but as both of these had zero impact on the run itself and were accidental, I'm approving it. Congrats on the new PB! Also, thanks for proving to me that you can, in fact, despawn things using scroll glitch, I think that so far we've only managed to spawn additional objects.
GG, hope to see sub 12 soon! :)
Well, it's just a beginning of my speedrunning journey, and considering I'm using an emulator and a keyboard, I'd rather have as many proofs of legitimacy as possible. But thanks for letting me know. :>
As someone who uses an emulator, I think all of the rules you listed are pretty fair. Will adhere to all of them. Though, I'm not sure if Mesen has the option to display the "No Movie", but it has visual symbols for both recording and playing a movie, so I guess you'd be able to see if the run is pre-recorded or played live anyway.
