Here is the pinned message from the discord which has the downpatcher instructions, I hope this can help if you hadn't got it figured out otherwise:
- Download & Extract Depot Downloader: https://github.com/SteamRE/DepotDownloader/releases/latest
- Download the attached batch file and move it inside the newly created DepotDownloader's folder.
- Run the batch file, enter your Steam credentials and it will start the downloads. It will take some time (~17GB for base game + 25GB?? for all DLCs), just wait for "Press any key to continue" to show.
- Done ! The downpatched game is in
DepotDownloader\Bioshock Infinite\
, you can move that folder wherever you want, add it as non steam game on Steam, or even launch it directly by executingBioshock Infinite\Binaries\Win32\BioShockInfinite.exe
If you get
dotnet missing
errors, download and install dotnet6.0 Runtime here : https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download/dotnet/6.0/runtime (Console Apps x64) and run the batch script again.
it prioritizes runs with the loads removed
i like it, thought about doing it before. im for it and will get a run in, love to claim another category ext wr
BlueYoshi your argument is pretty weak, there are many games that revolve around RNG. The point of the speedrun is to test skill and playing around the cards you are given. And also just saying it's boring is dumb considering there is an entire community that wishes for this srcom board. Also, insanely hypocritical to say is boring considering you speedrun Mario Party.
Well you seem to have problems with the unprofessionalism of Proto and KPC. If you're going to complain here but not take up action I don't see the point in chiming in, so there's a discussion to be had. And I would disagree that it's an open and shut case of it being rejected, the original runner obviously thought so also with his concern. I strongly recommend going here for any further comments : https://discord.gg/kGvCswj
I mean if you're reading the discord please bring this discussion into there. I'm not saying the joke wasn't stupid. But keep in mind that The Collection is kind of a joke all together to BioShock runners, nonetheless some dudes let's play of the most arbitrary category, and then the dude submitting is inaccurate let's play to 3 categories, 2 of which claimed free world records. And I'm not saying the run was on pace with a spliced run, it doesn't seem cheated, the arbitrary run is just cherry topped with the fact that he failed to give a remotely accurate time with the submission. Again, please bring this over to the Discord chat where many will be willing to explain to your dense self why an unprofessional run was met with unprofessional acceptance.
Don't submit joke runs if you're gonna get upset when its laughed at. I'm not the people that did this of course and won't try to speak on their behalf. Again, if you have a problem, take it to the Discord where there are tons of active people willing to talk to you about how to properly sort it out. If you're going to just submit a let's play, you're going to be poked fun at though.
I recommend joining the discord. The problem was that you didn't supply an accurate time and the lack of continuity put the reliability of your timing on par with a spliced run.
It's in the works, but it's complicated. If you have any experience making one feel free to join the discord and talk to Prototypealpha.
Timberman moderators are inactive. Attempts at contacting the only one with working social links, ImHan, has failed. I'd like to become moderator so I can verify runs, add categories, add a theme to the page, and overall get more runners interested in it as a speedgame.
we always round and say 1/50, or 2% chance, but its a bit lower than that from whats been tested, it's actually like 1/53.
Just to keep track of legitimate individual level records before the game gets flooded with kids editing their times with cheat engine.
