I have multiple runs that I plan to submit for JD1. I've done A LOT of reading and pretty much fit every criteria to a T but I just don't have the time to do it right now
SON OF A B.....!!!!!!! damn it.... ugh.
Spacemita has finally responded! It's all about patience now.
Some clarifications and additives before I begin
Since the suggestion for JD1 and JD2 had rather long lists for the “challenge” and sweat mode respectively which may be tough to implement the usual way so perhaps a spreadsheet-like design like in the smash ultimate level leaderboards. Although it would be a huge list, I feel like that would be the best way to do it without a giant list of misc.
In fact, I’ve taken the liberty of creating tables in google docs of what they should look like. Here it is: https://tinyurl.com/yyd4kfa5
That doc also has the sweat ILs for JD4, Dance Quest ILs for JD2016 and JD2017 which will be explained below
I also believe that JD Summer Party should be added as a “sub-game” to JD2 since it is. Same thing with JD Greatest Hits and JD3.
I will also cover the spin-off series at a later date because we should have the main series first but with that said, no I didn’t forget MJ The Experience, BEP Experience, HHD Experience, Smurf Dance party, JD kids 1-JD kids 2014, ABBA: You Can Dance, Dance on Broadway, Just Sing, JD Wii, JD Wii 2, JD Wii U, Yo-Kai Watch Dance, JD Now, JD2015 Chinese Version, JD2017 Chinese Version, JD Disney Party 1, JD Disney Party 2, And last but not least JD Vitality School.
Yeah, there are a lot of spin-offs and it really seems that Ubisoft can turn these out quickly.
Anyway back to the main topic of this post.
JD4
All-Stars: Play every song in the game with the score not being an issue.
5 Stars: Play every song in the game while also getting 5 stars in each song
Like in JD3 I believe that there should be an Individual Level “spreadsheet” type of leaderboard like in smash ultimate. This is because of the unique way the game handles sweat so please refer to the doc above to see what it should look like.
Dance Quests: You and three other people try to get all of the dance quests in the game (or at least you holding 4 Wiimotes and such) swapping the number of players as needed. All players must be named in the submission. Or maybe if that too unrealistic then just make it so you must get all the dance quests that are possible by one person
Collectables: only in JD3 and JD4 because of the way they handle collectibles is having this category justifiable from JD2014 onwards the mojo coins just don’t work for collectibles because you have to buy all the collectibles individually instead of unlocking them.
Dance Battles: Play every dance battle and win 5-0. The fun would come from trying your hardest to beat the AI perfectly.
I’m going to stop mentioning the non-stop pop category because it’s redundant at this point and every game from here on out has it from the start. I also didn’t mention it when talking about JD2 and JD3 because I simply forgot. However, JD4 is different because you have to unlock it first so I felt it worth mentioning.
JD2014
All-Stars: Play every song in the game with the score not being an issue
5 Stars: Play every song in the game while getting 5 stars on each song
Dance battles: Play every dance battle and win every round against the AI opponent.
I won’t talk about JD2015 or JD2020 because we already have access to those and honestly I only have 1 final idea for both and all of these games which would be a blindfolded sweat run but I’m not sure if that would get many people running it, I certainly would though.
JD2016
All-stars: Play every song in the game with the score not being an issue
5 Stars: play every song in the game while getting 5 stars in each one.
Dance Quests: there will be a full game run where you do them all either 5 stars or just to unlock the player icon/win the quest (mods’ choice). AND it will have IL runs like in the document above.
JD2016 also has a sort of karaoke mode but I don’t think it should be run because it’s very boring all things considered.
JD2017
JD2017 is different because this game added the “superstar” score where you get it from getting a score above 11,000 in a song and I think it should be considered as its own category in this leader board.
All-Stars: play every song in the game with the score not being an issue
5 stars: Play every song in the game while getting 5 stars in each 1
Superstar: play every song in the game while getting the “superstar” pop up from getting a score of 11,000.
Dance Quests: Again this can have a full run of all the quests in one sitting AND ILs. The ILs are again in the document above. There are not as many as in JD2016 but it’s still a great mode. I specifically bought JD2016 and JD2017 on the Wii U to get access to both dance quests modes even though I already own JD2016 on Xbox 360.
Some might ask about JD Unlimited since there are Dance Quests for it in both games but that would be a REALLY long list They are shared between both games so putting the whole list in both wouldn’t make any sense Not everyone would have access to it since it’s a subscription service
JD Machine: JD2017 introduces a never before seen and never since seen mode called JD Machine and this is the PERFECT mode to run. It’s the closest JD ever went into having a story mode and that’s fantastic. The rules are simple. Fill up the JD Machine’s gauge as fast as possible on a fresh save. Simple but effective.
JD2018
All-stars: Play every song in the game with the score not being an issue.
5 stars: Play every song in the game while getting 5 stars on each song
Superstar: Play every song in the game while getting superstar on each one
Megastar: Play every song in the game while getting Megastar on each one
JD2018 doesn’t have the JD Machine it does have Dance Lab which is the next best thing and should have its own full category but not ILs because each level is the same length regardless of how many times you play it so playing them all is best.
JD2018 also has double rumble but that’s exclusive to Nintendo Switch so not everyone would have access to it so it would be unfair.
JD2019
The mods already have access to this game so there’s no need for suggestions other than a Superstar and Megastar category like in JD2018
JD2020 Again I only want a Superstar and Megastar category
JD2021
To finally end this massive post the only category I want that hasn’t already been said by me before many times is a category for the quick play mode that would be different from the non-stop pop category. I’m tired but yeah they should be different categories.
Just so you know using Arial 11 font, this was 4 damn pages in google docs, and that’s without the other doc of ILs. UGGGGGHHHH!!!!
Possible Categories for EVERY Just Dance game (JD4-JD2021)

Thank you for your response I'm currently working on another huge post and I'll make sure to take your criticism and use it to make my ideas better but a little clarification. Bar% and all the all star categories are simply about getting from the first song to the last. You SPECIFICALLY want to get as low of a score as possible so the results screen finishes quickly. Look at all the allstars runs on this leaderboard. That's the point. I'd never run that because it's boring but still it should be recognized as the fastest way to play the game to the end. Besides the fun comes from trying not to move your wii mote/not moving in front of your kinect.
PLEASE GET JD4 NEXT THAT ONE'S THE BESTTTTTTTTTTT! AHHHHH I'M ACTUALLY FREAKING THE FUCK OUT RIGHT NOW SORRY FOR ALL THE FUCKING SWEARING!
TIME TO MAKE A BG FOR IT WOOOOOOOOOO! THIS IS HUGE THE SITE ADMINS ARE ACKNOWLEDGING US WHOOOOOOO!
Isn't that the entire point of category extension leaderboards? Look at the category extension leaderboards for getting over it. Most of them would be classified as "arbitrary"
JD1 Warm-Up: timing starts from the second you start the game from the Wii Menu and ends when you select "warm-up" on the title screen. The fun comes from trying to select it as fast as possible.
Bar% Full Version: Similar to the "All-Star" category. Simply play every song in the game and the score doesn't matter. Must be done via the "Quick Play" option in the main menu. Every version in the version select menu must be "Full Version"
Bar% Short Version: The same thing as the full version except the short version must be selected for all songs.
Bar 100%: the same thing as any% except you must fill the score bar fully on every song. (preferably there are 2 versions for short and full versions).
Regular: This is an umbrella that is most similar to "sweat and playlist" where you get a preselected number of songs which should be sub-categories like 10',20' and 30' are subcategories to sweat and playlist. The subcategories should be 1 automatic short 1 automatic full 1 manual short 1 manual full 3 automatic short 3 automatic long 3 manual short 3 manual long 5 automatic short 5 automatic full 10 automatic short 10 automatic long
explanation: the number is how many songs you'll play which is a selection. whether it says manual or automatic is the option you select right after selecting the number of songs. Whether it says long or short is the version of the songs you must select every time. This 1 is complicated I know but I'm willing to talk to the mods to find a way to clarify it for inexperienced potential runners and to not overwhelm them.
under the "challenge" option there is also a "strike a pose" but this option is overall the same as regular you just have to freeze now and again and it's not really worth running.
The last one standing: in this category, you must "die" as fast (as possible by getting Xs.
The subcategories should be 1 automatic full 1 automatic short 3 automatic full 3 automatic short 5 automatic full 5 automatic short 10 automatic full 10 automatic short
You'll notice there are no manual sub-categories here simply because what would be the point of selecting a song just to end it as fast as possible when the game can do it for you.
Feel free to take a break from reading, I know it's a lot but I'm far from done.
Now finally, JD2:
All-stars short: Play every song on the disc with the score not mattering and with the short version of the song selected each time.
All-stars full: Play every song on the disc with the score not mattering and with the full version of the song selected each time.
5 stars full: Play every song on the disc while also getting 5 stars on the full version of the songs
5 stars short: Play every song on the disc while also getting 5 stars on the short version of each song
Warm-Up: Same thing as in JD1 except now you also have to go to the extras menu to select it
Contest Winners: You go to the extras menu and play the 3 different versions of "When I Grow Up" By The Pussycat Dolls. Possible other names: Famous, When I Grow Up, Triple Threat.
Just Sweat: The same as "sweat and playlist" on JD2015 because when choosing the Just Sweat mode it asks you to select a specific "program"/ number of songs so it should categories with 3 subcategories called: 1 song short 1 song full 3 songs short 3 songs full 6 songs short 6 songs full Timing should be done via real-time as there doesn't seem to be an in-game timer. also again the reason why they are separated by short and full is that you can choose which version of the song to play with the minus (-) button on the Wii mote.
JD Summer Party
All-stars short: Play every song on the disc with the score not mattering and with the short version of the song selected each time.
All-stars full: Play every song on the disc with the score not mattering and with the full version of the song selected each time.
5 stars full: Play every song on the disc while also getting 5 stars on the full version of the songs
5 stars short: Play every song on the disc while also getting 5 stars on the short version of each song
Warm-Up: Same thing as in JD1 except now you also have to go to the extras menu to select it
Just Sweat: The same as "sweat and playlist" on JD2015 because when choosing the Just Sweat mode it asks you to select a specific "program"/ number of songs so it should categories with 3 subcategories called: 1 song short 1 song full 3 songs short 3 songs full 6 songs short 6 songs full Timing should be done via real-time as there doesn't seem to be an in-game timer. also again the reason why they are separated by short and full is that you can choose which version of the song to play with the minus (-) button on the Wii mote.
You'll notice that this is very similar to JD2's suggestion because it is. JD Summer Party is some of JD2's DLC on a disc. so it uses the same engine and thus has very similar modes to JD2.
JD Greatest Hits: I don't have this game and I doubt that I'll be able to emulate it on my crappy laptop so I'll get back to this one but as far as I know the engine is the same as JD3 so it should have similar categories. Take another break here from reading if you need to.
JD3:
Here's the thing about JD3, The Xbox 360 version has 2 possible difficulty settings on every song wherein the easy mode the Kinect will only track your upper body, and your legs are ignored. I believe that for all the categories that the runner should be forced to do hard mode even though runners on Wii technically only have to move their right hand. It's much easier, too easy, to score highly on easy mode meanwhile the Wii mote isn't perfect at reading movements so it can be harder. This is an effort to keep the versions as similar in difficulty as possible.
All-stars: play every song in the game with the score not being an issue.
5 stars: play every song in the game with the requirement being that you must score 5 stars on every song.
Non-Stop Shuffle: You must turn on sweat mode and you must get at least 100 sweat points and 1 star in every song.
Non-Stop Speed Shuffle: Same rules as non-stop shuffle except you have to choose speed shuffle instead
Collectables: The many separate categories for collectibles is dumb and should all but the 1 player one be removed.
Here's where this goes from simple to complicated with this game because it's never simple.
There should be "Individual-level leaderboards" (like this: https://www.speedrun.com/ssbu/individual_levels) for every individual playlist (specifically in the "playlist section" NOT the specials section) in the game because there are so many with preselected songs. they should all have the option for any% and 5 stars (like how the example I used has them with the options of 0.0,5.5 and 9.9)
Specials
Medley solo: You select medley solo and hope you get a set of songs that end quickly.
Medley Dance Crew: You select medley Dance crew and hope you get a set of songs that end quickly.
There's no "just create" category because you only ever do 1 song and that's not fun to run.
Thank you for coming along on this journey with me and I'll try to get to the other games in the series eventually but this was a BITCH to type out so bare with me. Also if I have a spelling and grammatical mistake. YOU try writing this much man. damn.
JD1 Warm-Up: timing starts from the second you start the game from the Wii Menu and ends when you select "warm-up" on the title screen. The fun comes from trying to select it as fast as possible.

damn, that really sucks but I guess they do state that it might take up to 2 weeks so it is what it is.
I consider myself a "backseat mod" but thank you very much! I'll try to do the same for JD2015 but assets are a lot harder to find. While I'm here is it possible that the "panel opacity" or whatever it's called for you guys is lowered at least by a little bit so the background is easier to see?
As requested I made a custom background/banner (whatever looks better mods' choice) I did NOT make the background (it's from Bangaragang) it was made by "Just Dance Remake Comparisons" Link to his video: As per request it still fits under the description "made by the community" because we are both members of the community. anyway here's the link for it: https://tinyurl.com/y5wqvyod
While I'm here I found the files for the feedbacks used in JD2 and JD3 SO if the mods here ever get added as mods there then they can make these placement medals. These were made by a person called JapanYoshi but it didn't say where you can find them. Perfect: https://tinyurl.com/y2naeyc6 Good: https://tinyurl.com/y4zqax73 OK: https://tinyurl.com/y6q7f563 YEAH: https://tinyurl.com/y4glgfk8 (parts seem invisible but that's because of the white checkerboard that represents the transparency. X: https://tinyurl.com/y3z54hh4 Any feedback (pun intended) is appreciated and thanks to the mods for being awesome.
Any update on this yet? if they rejected it might be because you only have your YT linked to your speedrun account. try adding more socials.
Why stop at just JD1? There's JD Summer Party, JD Greatest Hits, The Wii and Wii U series exclusive to Japan, kids, the Chinese versions of most of them that have a few exclusive songs, JD vitality school again exclusive to Japan, and Disney Party. Most of these were released on Wii so can be played on dolphin.
Now that I'm on the subject I believe that emulator SHOULD be allowed but perhaps as a separate but equal leaderboard. Like the one for SMB1 which does that. However at the moment that is unnecessary because all of us DO have original console so we can cross that bridge when we get to it. I'm saying this because as far as my collection I don't have the kids, Wii series, and greatest hits yet.
It's easily the worst JD game out of all of them but yeah it makes sense that it should be included. If I get a new wii mote I'll run it. ( yes I own it lol).
