I think that'd be fine, yeah. Only problem I think we've ever had with nonstandard controls was mapping a button to mash through the brave faces regardless of controller combo

So I asked a friend on this because I wasn't familiar with games that use Cheat% and my understanding is that there are multiple games where cheat codes are allowed in Any%, this is a thing that depends on communities and isn't universally applicable.

In this case, I did a category split between Any% and All Levels because the CHEATER filename exploit was discovered and submitted under Any%. It then led to multiple runs being done with this and now it is the most active current category.

Personally, I see two reasons to change it:

One: A new in-game exploit is discovered that allows someone to skip levels and someone wants to run this. If someone finds this and wishes to run it without the CHEATER filename, I'll happily make a new category for that because I would agree that would be useful.

Two: The community, in particular the people running this game, decide this semantic distinction is important. I personally feel like if you're uncomfortable with the CHEATER filename then it would be better to run All Levels with our current knowledge of the game and that the current category splits are well indicative of the possible ways that people have speedrun it. If other people in the community agree that this is a distinction they would like to have, feel free to say so in this topic and I'll change it. But I personally feel this is largely a semantic difference and is unlikely to change which category is most popular. It's a small game but I've been trying to keep up with appropriate category splits and even if it uses a cheat code, more people have run it than the previous Any%.

Also, my time was uncontested for four and a half years in Any%, someone comes in with a quicker way to do it and beats me? I was ecstatic about that!

That said... how do other people feel about this? Do you think that we should rename the categories or do you think they're fine as it is?

Hey, question, how are you getting the Brave Face inputs that quickly and not having problems with the Jackpot Heffalump's inputs? Is there an exploit or something you found?

With the discovery of the CHEATER filename exploit, I decided to revisit this and open up ILs for this game. Blustery Day, funnily enough, will not have an IL since that'd be basically equivalent to Any% now. Due to unsureness on how to handle 100% with ILs I'll keep things as Any% only for them and how to handle 100% ILs or equivalent categories can be decided on if someone wants to run them

I've considered it but am unsure given how levels with this game are completable once only whereas the games I've seen with individual levels as speedrun categories have you able to play through them multiple times. If you can find examples where that's not the case I'll do it but I guess I'm basing that idea of, say, Collectathon games like Banjo-Kazooie not having individual levels whereas Super Mario Sunshine, where you can replay levels easily, does have it.

The one I could see applying that too might be the final level, "A Blustery Day", maybe?

Yeah, because it's different enough even though it shares the same name it'd be a separate game. To my understanding there's precedent for this with cases like Spongebob Squarepants: Revenge of the Flying Dutchman vs Spongebob Squarepants: Revenge of the Flying Dutchman (GBA). I'd recommend requesting the GBA version as a separate game for that reason so you can put this there! But if there are other cases where games are very different but they're separated by categories and they tell you to go that route, I can add it.

But this is cool! Glad to know there was interest in this! Interesting how it has like the same Basic structure but the Flooded Woods section is a Lot more built out here

To my knowledge there's not much difference and we do have a way of timing to take out the load times if you're worried about those

The glitch basically lets you start a new file with all the brave faces learned so you don't have to buy them.

The steps are as follows:

-Load a file with all the brave faces learned -Exit said file via the menu -Create a new file and start your run with that, it should have all the brave faces

Well, then do you know any games where there's a different version of the same game in the leaderboards then? And did you submit it as "Piglets Big Game" or "Piglet's Big Game (PC)"?

Hrmm, did you make it clear this game was a different game from the GCN/PS2 version? Did they give any other reasoning? Do you know of any games that have different games in the same thing? Because at least looking at the Spongebob games where I know that's the case, they're split into different games
