As with most people above, I would also like to participate to be a moderator for the Mario Kart 7 speedrunning page. Being the former WR holder, I think I have good enough knowledge of the game to know if anything suspicious is up, as well as giving newer players/runners some help in their gameplay. I will admit though, I don't really check this website very often, but I hope to change that if I do in fact become a mod.
I know this is a month old, but I specifically put a video up on the "Resources" section for people who needs help like this.
^Here's the video. Make sure to check the resources section of a game before commenting please.
I mainly use 2 for shortcuts and save 1 for a possible blue shell. If no blue shell comes during the entirety of the race, I use it at the very end of the race for a slight speed boost. It's also important to remember that you can receive mushrooms in 1st place, so I usually spam my items until I get one so I can dodge.
This is an ... interesting 'discovery'. It's not really new, and many people have found this trick before, mainly from accidental circumstances. Replicating the glitch is also a very difficult feat, and as a result, probably won't serve any real purpose in speedruns simply because it's too hard to implement, even in TTs. Nice try though? idk
There's not much point putting it on this website when there's another one that does the job much better.
Yea I agree. I actually only got the glitch WR to fix an issue with putting different categories lol As Cyndakill said before, if we did separate the glitch categories back then, we would have to add a video proof rule to each category, which was problematic due to the fact that first place for the glitch category back then didn't have video proof. However, since now the glitch WR has a video, this problem is resolved. We can now add the video proof rule to each category. However, another problem is what to do with the runs which do not specify whether they have used glitches in their run or not. I don't really know why this wasn't a required field to fill in, but since it wasn't we now have a problem with the leaderboards. Personally, I'll say to remove them from the leaderboards entirely. We can check one time because it has video proof, but the others I'll say to delete. It's been years since most of them did their runs, so I doubt they'll have much problem from being removed.
Uhh hi, my friend wants to submit a time on the multi-man smash leaderboard, but he only has the 3DS version, and the only version you can select is WiiU, not 3DS. Is this a mistake? Or has it got to do with loading times?
I don't know if anyone has talked about this before, but in my opinion I think glitches, or "skips" should have a different category like in Mario Kart Wii like this: https://controlpro2.imgur.com/all/?third_party=1
say your opinion idk
I was thinking for a CPU Iron Man Speedrun to be introduced here for the people who has really slow WiFi.
The Rules Would Be: 2 Stocks 6 Minutes Lvl 9 CPUs CPUs should be Random Stages: Random Play All Characters in Chronological Order Win One Match for Each Character 1-1-1-1 Guest Miis Allowed (?) Random Allowed (?)
Stages: Battlefield Final Destination Smashville Town and City Dreamland 64 Lylat Cruise
Omega Stages (?): Midgar Suzaku Castle Wily Castle
All Rules are from: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1CFaeel_cVIImEZ7ZrIrb_fSva5H3tsN24yp2INyrVLE/edit
Edit: Also, I think we should have one leaderboard for DLC and one for no DLC,
But I'll let you guys decide...
