Okay well since there's currently only 2 people on the 1.11 board shouldn't everyone be showing their driver vers. then, since the run submitted could potentially be 3rd on the 1.11 board? Haha
Asking in advance...so when I submit a run on Playstation I only have to show the Driver version if it would be a Top 3 run on the x.xx board, correct?
As I always do when this question is asked, I recommend Resident Evil 2. Depending on the console the average run time is around an hour to an hour 15. Easy to learn, fun to master.
It should be noted this is only for when playing the PS version on a PS2, and a PS2 with Fast Disc Speed option at that.
I see where you're going with saving the seconds, but I just think this is one of those risk/reward type things...alotta players would opt not to do this, bc of all the QS's (which, imo at least, are noticeably harder on console), and bc alotta people don't even do the MO Disk dodge (personally, I'll just shoot all 3 of the front Zombies hahaha ???) PLUS shoot the 2 Licker hallway naked zombies before using MO Disk.

Hey gang, Im taking the plunge and picking up a Switch tomorrow, and Odyssey will be my first title purchase. I'm going to be playing for fun initially, but I know eventually the time will come to speedrun it haha. My question is, if I'm picking up a US Switch, and a US copy of Odyssey, will I be able to switch it to Japanese for speedrunning when the time comes? Is it done through a menu or something? Or will I need to acquire a JAP copy of Odyssey? Thanks in advance, and please forgive my ignorance on the subject! Lol ?

The second version I ended up picking up was BH2 on N64, but this was simply bc I had already picked up a Japanese 64 to run Mario 64, so I figured why not lol. It's the first time I've actually played BIOHAZARD 2 and not RE2, so though the 64 controller is a nuisance it's still fun to play the game with less enemies and quicker text.
What you said about the red Wii has piqued my interest on the GCN version though Limburger lol. System's disc drives affecting the game's speed interests me, as I also run RE2 on a US PS2 SCPH-70012, which has the 1.11 driver and evidently loads the game much quicker (I personally can't see a huge difference, but it's interesting nonetheless).
I just need a laptop that can capture good enough, shouldnt be more than a couple hundred but now I'm eyeing a Switch for Christmas sooo....the laptop might have to wait lol

I would echo what Komrade and Timmiluvs said as my advice, run a game you love to play, not what everyone else is running. Made that mistake with Mario64 and it alnost made me wanna stop running. And taking breaks you'll find is a necessity. When trying to up my time on Resident Evil 2 I found my biggest improvements came after a bit of down time. Good luck friend!
Really? Didn't know that, why won't it hit him? I mean even if right up in his face? How could it miss? Bc when I was shooting G4 with Magnum I was like directly in front of him, seems grenade splash would hit him as well
That's why I'm asking in a thread, bc Ime Hori has made great stuff (Their HRAP sticks for fighting games mainly, also the Horipad for N64 is great), but I know some people who don't like their stuff. So I wanted to know some opinions from actual owners before I buy. Wouldn't want it to be one of those things where months down the line the Horipad is lauded as the best Switch Pro variation and is $100- $150 by the time I decide to get one. I'm tired of that kinda crap haha
Just chiming in something that may already be known, but it certainly wasn't to me, and finding this out stopped me from throwing away a PB so I felt I should say something lol.
If the glitch happens where G4 grabs Leon while on top of the tubes and gets you "stuck" up there...it isnt run over! If you can manage to kill him, simply attempt to run into the elevator area anyways and it should still trigger. Note that I was on US PS version (Dual Shock) in case this doesn't work on other versions.
Oh okay I see, but should I opt for one of the cheaper $20 wired controllers (or the Hori) would I be able to charge the Switch while using one of those? Since I'm gonna be playing in bed I'm inclined to buy a wired controller since distance won't be a factor and they're less expensive...ugh new console time is a stressful time lol. Sorry its just since Ive yet to see a Switch in person Idk what inputs it has
@European_Union - So I couldn't charge the Switch while also using the Protroller? I'm asking this specifically bc I know 9/10 times I'm gonna be playing in bed and not on the tv so I'm just curious how often I'll have to deviate from that setup to avoid interrupted runs.
And thank you both for the controller suggestion, I had seen the XC2 controller, but wouldn't have thought to try it. I probably will now. Still wondering if the Hori is any good though...
