Speaking only from story mode point of view, and only from my own opinion, I do not think the changes change the run or the possible runtimes. For Arcade it might be necessary with the introduction of super 3, but I will let the people who actually run Arcade decide whether these changes impact speedrunning.
In the current version (6.0) new characters were included. I played in Arcade mode and the inclusion of these characters doubles the speedrun time! Therefore, at least in Arcade mode, the inclusion of the variable for this version is necessary.

Though, also with the new character's inclusions... Should they be added as their own categories now for the Arcade mode runs? Cause I only see the option to do runs as the core6 roster of and Shanty, but not the rest of the dlc roster.
