Hello, I wanted to ask if it's allowed to remap a button on a controller to both serve as a keyboard input and the joystick input of that button.
For example, in Joy2Key, remapping A on Xbox controller to the keyboard "A" key. So it is both the jump button and the next level button. Would this still be allowed as a remap or is this considered a macro because it's one button doing 2 inputs (even on the same frame)?
This is the reddit thread where I got the idea, but it's also extremely old so the rules might have changed since: https://www.reddit.com/r/speedrun/comments/2kfbqh/super_meat_boy_controls/
It would be allowed but there are the keyboard A key to skip the replay and go to next level, S key to exit level skipping the replay.
So no need to bind both jumps on the same button.
How the rules go is that you are allowed to do any mapping you want with the buttonconfig file meatboy uses including 2to1 mappings. However, with external tools like Joy2Key only 1 to 1 mappings are allowed. That being said it is weakly enforced and some runners do use it, but i would advise against it.
