So, this thread is pretty much regarding the situation with the prices in Jeff's shop.

As you all know, we currently can not verify any runs that are affected by the Super Hard Mode difficulty, as the prices of the items have doubled (apart from the skeleton key, it's 400 instead of 500), due to the fact that most runs base off of buying items from Jeff's shop that originate from the old prices (pills and lockpicks normally are 50 coins, flashlight's a 100, cruci and skel key are 250, yare yare daze).

Now, chances are that, if the prices remain the same and don't revert back to their original state, all the current runs will have to get wiped from the leaderboards. This is, again, because most of the runs base themselves off of buying the items from jeff's shop, and ultimately, it'll be a lot more difficult to gather coins for the items that so very desperately are needed in a run. All we can do is pray and hope for the prices to be reverted back to their original state. In case not, the changes that have been named in this thread will be pulled through.

The Rooms and Super Hard Mode runs are not affected by this.

Wiping the leaderboard would be a mistake. It'd be unfair to everyone who has worked hard to get to the top. It also sets a bad precedent that at any time an update to the game comes out, the leaderboard could get completely wiped. It's inevitable that the world record will be beaten anyway, and when it does, it would be strange if the old records had been removed.

@Spondos well realistically, everyone who has ran the normal category will be affected by it either way. Everyone will start from scratch, and will be forced to find new ways to try to get better times. That's how speedrunning works, and that's actually a good thing.

i hope lsplash finally fixes the prices after super hard mode getting deleted from public servers

@gogreen1675 the only thing we can probably do is archive these runs and then put up a new leaderboard in case the prices do get reverted back into their original state a few months after

@Greuce. Yes better archive the runs incase of the prices going back to normal if they're not changing it and making a new leaderboard is just gonna be fine

crucies are a massive time saver like fr im not wasting so much time just to get 500 coins. Thats too much

Also, what about runs not verified yet? will they still be verified after the update?

And lastly, does anyone know about their current decisions on jeffs shop?

i've been told that the super hard mode badge will be unobtainable after the 9th (today) so that might mean prices get reverted idk just a wild guess

just played through normal again, as the april fools update was reverted in public lobbies. the prices are still the same. welp, this sucks

Welp, looks like it won't be reverted back to its original state. This pretty much just forces a straight up leaderboard wipe. Thread will be locked, ggs.
