While I normally would agree, I feel as though the current glitches in Raft promote an unhealthy environment.
The glitch list, as far as I'm aware, is two glitches long. (please correct me if I'm wrong) Single player, you can cast your hook an infinite length. (multiplayer too, I suppose) Multiplayer, the 2nd player can loot a chest multiple times through lag manipulation.
So as for single player, honestly, I don't think the infinite hook glitch is very overpowered. We could technically lift the ban on that. However, to optimize the co-op run, you'd be required to either use an outside tool to force lag (and macros), or just play with someone on the other side of the world (with macros).
Personally, I don't think that way of speedrunning is a fair playing field.
If there's enough interest though, I suppose I could be swayed. I don't want to discourage you from doing the run, this game desperately needs runners. I'm just not going to create a category right away. What category would you be attempting anyway? Utopia or Balboa?
If you could get a Utopia any% in under 30min, or Balboa any% in under an hour with glitches, I'd be impressed. Maybe post it to our (dead) Discord, you'll be able to get ahold of me alot quicker there.
I found a new glitch (/bug) (works in the current version): If you go to bed from a ladder (doesn't have to be at night, you can immediately get up again) and hold the movement key as well as face upwards when waking up, you get "infinite ladder movement" (you can move every direction infinitely in the entire 3D space as if you always had a ladder in front of you that moves with you) which only gets reset to normal movement when you touch a ladder again which lets you do things like go straight to the top of tangaroa once you get there.
DizDeLusa, That glitch has been known for a while (you could use a chair instead of a bed), and it's been discussed within the community on our discord. Most everyone agrees that the flying glitch ruins the game entirely, so as a community we have decided to keep it banned from I/L's and the main game mode. However, we did create an Any% (with glitches) mode. Currently, very few people run Any% because the current best way to run it is through item duplication via putting things in your chest, saving game, taking things out of the chest, saving game, leaving game, loading a world backup from two saves ago. It's alot of work to run Any%, but if you want to fly, it can be done there!
