I was wondering if there are any rules about pausing during this run considering the length and there are virtually no breaks. If we indicate it in the notes or anything?
Also are turbo controllers okay? That would at least make it possible to sneak in a bathroom break every now and then if pausing isn't allowed.
I'm also totally down for segmented runs. I just love this game and would love to run it but damn, it's long
Pausing if you mean pausing the timer, isn't allowed. If you leave for a break and / or sleep, etc, the timer must remain running and that time is counted towards your run time. To ensure legitimacy also, I assume that 'break footage' (so like if you do sleep, the footage must remain recording) must also be recorded, because it'd be really easy to just splice runs otherwise.
Turbo Controllers as far as I'm aware are fine, though no runner to be my knowledge currently uses ones. Most just take their wireless DS4 with them.
Turbo controllers aren't normally allowed by western speedrunning rules. I'm not sure the community has come to a consensus on them here either and to my knowledge, nobody that's run has used one? I could be wrong there; it's admittedly hard to tell. I don't think people would mind too much but if it's something you have the option of using, it's probably worth bringing up in the discord before you do a long run.
Turbo controllers are allowed, similar to Persona 3 and Persona 4. However, pausing the timer is not. All and any time from starting the run until the NG+ save is included in timing.
