The general idea of the timer is to get above a set time on each fight in the selected mode for example Tec will be above 200 and Brave will be above 190. If you get above the time on the first battle it triggers the bonus fight if you win you have timers on each fight. After that you get above the correct time on each fight to keep the time bonus. Then at the end of the mode at the final time screen the computer takes off a set time for each battle.
