Guess this is a good time to ask people’s opinions on whether Time Trial runs (Any% runs where time trials is used for each lap rather than races) should be put in the any% category as is. The rules don’t specify so it’s allowed, and I wanted get a consensus.

1. Any% rules should stay the same.
2. Add rule/forum post verifying time trial runs are allowed
3. Future runs shouldn’t be done in time trials.
4. Add a side stat like for vehicle type that shows which each run is.
5. Make an Any% Time Trials category
6. Other

Brought this up because of the recent thread, wanted to see what the community wanted to do, hope to get some discussion going.

I do think it is easy to figure out that both are allowed, but I'm probably biasis, cause I was there from the start. I guess a simple, both races and time trials could exist.

I don't see the problem with both modes co-existing in the any% category, or am I missing something here?

I consider Any% to be beating the game as fast as possible, and beating this game from launch (if it could be called beating it) requiring besting each ai race on normal or higher difficulty. I realize most runs violate the later, and this wasn’t established anywhere, just how I’m used to seeing an any% category set up, and I want some discussion on it at least. Sorry for previous comments saying it’s vague/unclear, I am just stupid.

Also yeah, no big inherent problems, more preference/feel than immediate need for change.

time trial should be kept as a option since it has pros and cons. slightly slower to navigate (menus) but no more ai car

5. Bcoz ai can really increase the time of ur run

We need an any% NG+ category, true any% would be to unlock the cars in order and beat every track the fastest way like that, NG+ is the one where you can pick any vehicle to start all the levels

@Bony_Thicc an any% run is beating the AI the fastest possible way, Easy AI included in a lot of games, however if there is no disadvantage to running harder AI, then by default people would run the harder difficulty despite it being the exact same run
