It's a bit unusual to slide with q at the beginning and then quickly move your fingers to the WAD keys to gain speed. I think you're forced to jump in front of the launchpad in order to land on it, because you don't have the boost at the beginning as soon as the time starts running, which is only possible with multi-bind.
