Hello, I got into speedrunning this game recently and I have a question.
I am using Linux, and finding a way to run Livesplit was an absolute pain (I'm using the OBS version of Livesplit One for now), and even then I don't think I can use any autosplitters. I will not submit any runs yet, because I think I can improve my time by a lot, but I would still like to know how to properly re-time my runs, in case I get a better time soon.
Is there an exact moment when I need to start and end the timing, and if so, which are they ? For the moment, I start counting from the first frame when King's Pass appears on the screen (as it's apparently how it is counted) and end at the first fully black frame after defeating the Hollow Knight.
Thank you for the answer, but I was mainly talking about the Any% NMG run here.
Oh then I'm pretty sure your right but ask the discord
You can probably use console timing if you're unable to use the load remover anyway
Start when creating a file, stop when screen turns dark
you're timing it right, don't use the in-game save file timer because that one doesn't count main menu time and paused time
Yeah, you're timing it right at the start. The timer ends when the save icon appears after the black screen. Good luck and have fun with your runs.
no, we don't use that timer as it doesn't count the main menu time and time when paused. almost every hk category features a save and quit, and it would not be an accurate representation of the length of time spent running.
A new autosplitter/load remover for Windows, Mac and Linux has been made available for run submissions. For information and installation instructions, see .
