I am wanting to try some Xbox one runs but am unsure how to do it without a laptop seeing as how that's how you control most integrated timers I'm wondering if I stream with mixer and save the videos and have a camera pointing at a timer on my phone does that count? And how do I submit it if it does
It's generally not necessary to have a timer. However, if you're really concerned, it would probably be best to ask the community for whatever games you intend to run, since they may have particular rules or better advice.
most games do not require a timer or really high quality recordings either. as long as you can visually see the game and hear it, then thats all that matters so long as there isnt anything obscuring the footage
as for a timer or splits, you can do without or you can do what you suggested and edit them in together, there is no proper way of setting things up, just there is a proper way of speedrunning a particular game based on the communities guidelines and rulings.
Yes, streaming your runs via the console's built-in streaming ability should be fine. Make sure to trim your stream VOD to the portion which is relevant (i.e. don't submit a 6 hour stream VOD if only 20 minutes of it are your run PB). I assume Mixer has some ability to trim videos as twitch does, I've never used it.
You submit your run by clicking on the "submit run" button on the page for your game and filling out the form that pops up.
one of the best retro guys does that yeah you can film your screen like old guy style if its clear enough
Trying to do xbox streaming on my laptop and when i’m recording livesplit ain’t showing up in the video so is there any streaming apps that are virus free. And actually show your legit screen not what your on

Google, probably. Their account was made the day before this post.
I'm curious guys, what's the cutoff point for responding to a thread without people freaking out? Six months? A year? Obviously two years at minimum.
