Figuring out what should be classified as an IL is hard, specially in roblox obbys, and currently, I think that the way the ILs are divided isnt good both here and in other obbies, but Ill stick to talking about this one in this thread. The division of the 200 stages in 40 ILs of 5 stages each seems a bit arbitrary in my opinion, just like 10, 15 or 20 checkpoints per IL would be. However, I dont think that the ILs should be divided in an IL for each checkpoint as it would be trivial since it can take 5 seconds per IL and no challenge at all. The difference between checkpoint 1 and 2 isnt significative enough to consider them separate levels so instead it would be better to get rid of the current ILs and either delete the IL page entirely or put the different biomes like Plains as the ILs since the difference between biomes is more significant and the length and difficulty is more appropriate for an actual speedrun than just running from checkpoint 1 to 5. (This can also be said about others like 1000 level obby and car obby even though those already have competition in the ILs so the levels shouldnt be removed. Luckily, there arent any runs in the ILs of this leaderboard so you can still delete them and, even if they were, you could still delete them if there were only a few runs).
i think what would make sense is having it like in cool obby 2 which has individual areas as plains, caves, etc whoch would be the "ils" but actual ils do exist per every level im not a mod tohugh so cant implement it, just a recommendation
I agree with @Kkntucara , the ILS should be separated by biome, not by individual checkpoints. Separating by individual checkpoint is just a massive headache waiting to happen, just look at car obby for an example.
each biome makes the most sense for an IL, it still evenly divides the game without being arbitrary and is long enough that the number of runs submitted will be managable
