How to KICK ASS at Cheese Hunt Any%

Aight, we're in for a full fair dinkum shot at sharing the strats.

There are a few important ones to get across. We'll dig into those first, then pop into the minutia a tad.



# Jumping Like a God

So something funky about this game is that you move faster horizontally while jumping than while grounded. What's even funkier is that it's only when you're going UP, not down. 

So jumping is always necessary, but often you want to do shorter hops to make sure you're getting the distance you need for certain jumps.



# Mushroom Stage 2: Electric Boogaloo

This is the name I lovingly gave to the mushroom on Stage 2, Screen 4.

The reason Mushroom Stage 2: Electric Boogaloo is so important, is because you can actually skip the walk over the spikes, and the climb up the crate.

To pull it off, you just want to make sure the tip of Chuppen's shoe is overlapping the red. BUT ONLY THE TIP. Just the tip. Chuppen can't handle any more than that, and neither can Mushroom Stage 2: Electric Boogaloo.

If done right, Chuppen'll bounce right off the edge of the mushroom, right onto the edge of the barrel. A clean bound that leaves room for a couple more jumps and the speed is ELECTRIC.



# The Water and the Birds

Stage 3 touched me where none had before. The interior of my lungs. I think 90% of my runs I got past Stage 2 on died to me instantly drowning in that damned swimming pool. I'd just COMPLETELY FORGET IT EXISTS and drown instantly. Because on Screen 2, you're not plopped where you usually are, you're tossed RIGHT NEXT TO THE WATER. And it's instakill, so if you walk more than a half step to the right, you're toast. Real soggy toast.

The goal here is to skip the bird that's flyin' about and hop on the spiked crates. If you jump as soon as you land on them you shouldn't take more than one or two points of damage a jump (keep in mind you'll likely have to land on the second crate twice to get closer to the edge).

As far as I can tell, the Birds tend to be a bit RNG dependent, or dependent on something like the time or whatever, so it's unhealthy to rely on them if there's another option.



# The Bird Spitroast of '24

On the final screen of Stage 5 you gotta ride a bird through penetration hell. The ONLY THING THAT MATTERS HERE is that you jump nonstop while on the bird, and try to move to where the spikes are not pokin' out.

Keep in mind that you WILL take damage here, and it'll be a decent chunk of health, so be sure to take a chill pill on the early screens of Stage 5 so you're not toast right before the finish line.

And no, you can't walk on the floor of spikes. I tried it many, many times. Don't ask.



# And That's That? Kinda?

I kind of want to write more, but it's almost 2am and I should sleep. I found this game by hitting the 'random game' button on this website, and when expecting to spend a few minutes doing a run and submitting it for funsies, I ended up spending a couple hours grinding my skill to the finest point I could muster this late at night.

I'll definitely update this guide over the next few days with images and more in depth strategies for the whole game, but for now these are the main things that caught my attention in my fever dream.
