Hey you awesome people!
Got a question for you guys:
I'm a non-speedrunner who finds the Case Board aspect of the game to be a tedious chore I wish I could skip. Which made me wonder about how you guys feel about the Case Board from a speedrunning perspective?
Hey Tumbledweeb!
Honestly, we feel the same way. Even when I played casually I wished for a button that would automatically fill the caseboard for me, but the biggest frustrations are where the caseboard blocks your progression. It can make sense for some things, but not being able to pick up the circuit board in Coffee World without doing the caseboard is probably the biggest example of somewhere I feel hindered by it. It's not that hard to piece that part of the puzzle together, I don't need the game to spell it out for me
Like anything in speedrun, it's something you just gotta get used to and practice. I would say the most major thing that differentiates a good runner and a casual runner in this game is how fast they mind room clues. I've gotten to the point where I can tell what clue goes where in Saga's mindroom just from the top 3rd of the picture that's being shown, which over the course of the run saves countless time b/c mindrooming is such a large part of the run
Now that the Night Springs Expansion has been out for a bit, and we've been able to explore the speedrun more thoroughly, the Expansion leaderboards and rules have been established!
