Today Forbidden West launches on PC but the speedrun Leaderboards will not be accepting any PC runs for the first 2 weeks of the launch. This is to give us moderators and the community as whole time to develop the rules to fit the PC version. The 2 weeks will also give new players time to enjoy the game before worrying about being competitive in Speedruns.

PC runs will be separated from the console runs on the leaderboards and also with the variety in PC hardware we are also going to make the PC leaderboards ranked by Loadless time. So the embargo will also give us time to develop an automatic load remover similar to the one used in HZD PC runs.

Other PC specific rules will be talked about and discussed on our Community Discord Server.

The PC Leaderboards will open on: 5 April 2024 12:00 PM CEST

Keep in mind the embargo can be extended if needed.

Going forward on the Leaderboards NG+ will be listed as the default category when browsing the Horizon Forbidden West Leaderboards.

We decided to make this change as over time NG+ has been the more active category for runners. So it now better shows the activity of the community and the leaderboards so when new people check them out they will see a more active category first. Since the Any% Story category has not seen much activity for a long time. Also there are now more runs submitted to NG+ than Any% so it just the more premiere category in the game.

We made a similar change to the Horizon Zero Dawn leaderboards years back were it was a similar story. Of cause should activity change then we can always make another change.

The Burning Shores DLC is coming out and similar to any other new release in the community we are going to have a 2 week period after launch were we wont accept any Speedruns to the leaderboard. This is to give everyone time to playthrough the DLC at their own pace. It will also give Moderators time to set up the leaderboards and figure out rules for the runs. You can also be a part of making rules for the leaderboards by posting your ideas on our Community Discord Server or making a post in the forums here.

The leaderboards for the Burning Shores DLC will open on May 4th 2023.

Currently 100% progression is bugged in the game, so until that is resolved we wont accept 100% speedruns. The developers are aware of the issue.

No runs will be accepted to the leaderboards prior to March 5th 2022. The reason for this is to give moderators a chance to play through the game, before having to verify spoiler filled runs. This will also give everyone a chance to beat the game and have some time to practice before the leaderboards open up. We will also work out what the rules will be for the runs in this time.

We are currently planning to have a Any% category for both highest and lowest difficulty. There will also be a 100% category. The more specific rules for each category will be ready once the leaderboards are open. On our community discord server we will discuss which other categories are also needed.
