did you get this on video? it would be cool to see!
For me, the best is the weekends. As long as there is a little bit of a heads up as to when a race is going to take place, I'd be happy to join.
I think that running the game on a treadmill is the only true challenge run
By all means, keep playing that category if you have fun doing it. Heck, I might even join you for races of it. But along the lines of what TheCarpenter said, categories need to be well established and have numerous people competing in the, for them to be considered a serious category. Like, for example, there has been a number of runners playing the No Merchant category recently. Currently it is still in the Miscellaneous subcategory, but potentially, if there is enough interest and there are enough runners, it could potentially become a new main category.
Just out of curiosity, is there any possibility of including a cat driving leaderboard?
Please keep from bashing others on the boards.
I have been working on a TAS for GC NG+ just to see how fast it could be, it is taking a while, but I hope when it finishes it will be faster than at least xbox.
Plus it will solve nothing.
No more personal attacks on public forums. That's grossly immature.
I think we all know how this turned out...
They're both difficult. Professional is hard, but its doable. There are numerous guides out there for doing pro. Mercs is also hard, but if you do what I did, where I found strats for each level that can net you just over 5 stars, then its not terrible. Both are difficult in there own ways. In my opinion, getting the handcannon is the hardest.
Happens to me like every run haha. The game hates me.
If you have found any ways to use the door glitch in a run, post about it here. Additionally, if you have gotten the glitch to work on any of the HD versions please let us know!
I so far haven't found any good ways to use it besides skipping the 4-1 Queen's grail trap in 4-1. This can be done, as far as I know, on Gamecube, Wii, and PS2 (It might be able to be done on PS '07, don't know for sure though). Some thoughts I had were the second gate in the 5-2 hallway with the 2 Regenerators, the garage door next to the bulldozer in 5-2, and the gate to the Red Zealot room in 3-1 right after the water hall. None of these have worked. Brainstorming will yield the best results, though, and I am happy to try anything people suggest.
On gamecube it isn't at the disc change, it's directly after you leave the Salazar room. It makes no sense.
The DA resets after Salazar. Maybe a couple other places, but Salazar I know for a fact off the top of my head.
If you can get it on a video site such as YouTube or twitch, just shoot someone a link to it, and we'll take a look first chance we get.
Again, the second video I posted above is the biggest benefit that could come from using the stutter step.
Really, the biggest benefit of the stutter step would be something like this:
Doing the second half of the truck in 5-2 with only a grenade equipped without going to the inventory would allow you to run with it until you get to the U3 area, and because running with the grenade is faster you can save a few seconds that way. However it's pretty much not going to happen in an actual run unless you are super lucky.
Here's my video of the stutter step:
So far there are three ways to do it. The stutter step way, the wall-hugging way (which I don't really know how to do), and the inventory way, which everyone knows and is super easy.
