turbo meaning holding down a button spams the input
Well, Invader are we making these posts? Every 5 days.. I guess I'll continue in the same fashion:
The World Record is 11:30 now, I think so congrats to that person 😃
In the shop keeper are we allowed to hold down the use/walk button to trigger a rapid turbo effect? Obviously it would save a bit of time but i'm not sure if doing that implies TAS and not RTA. So can we setup turbos? And what should we do if any entries in the leaderboard use turbo? Can they stand? Maybe mark them as verified: no?
that first try bits leftside was awesome. I really want to see this run improve, would be super sick!
@Vilks, along those lines, what if someone were to write a program that watches their speedrun, and analyzes and aggregates castle information into a HUD on their second monitor which is positioned such that the runner can actually see it in their peripheral vision for the remainder of the run. Some questions:
- Is this strategy allowed in the current rules?
- Should this strategy be allowed in the current rules?
- Is this strategy even detectable if the runner doesn't explicitly come clean about their structure?
- What is the natural extension of this strategy, and how do we deal with further improvements? (It is trivial to come up with a sequence of stronger strategies in the same direction)
The No Traits No Relics record is better than every any % run except record.. That's some serious shade. Like getting second place in the world while playing a challenge mode. Must be a disgusting feeling to the other speed runners in this category?
Is it possible to recover a runner's inputs from their gameplay? Otherwise, how would we even know for sure they are playing the game and maybe skipping a frame or two here or there?
