Hey there, I know this is a dead game, but I wanted to post some changes that were made to this board so that anyone that comes along understands why these changes were made.

“superscope%” has been changed to item% (because you don’t need a superscope to do this category)… this is an any% run, but it uses a debug tool to give the player all the items (pressing any button on 2nd screen with controller 2 / superscope/ mario paint mouse), from there, you must find the 7 blood vials then make your way to the final boss.. this category uses ONLY this exploit. In this category, you must defeat all enemies in rooms to have kat walk to the next room, you must also beat all mini bosses you run into.

We recently discovered that if you press select with controller 2, you do not need to defeat enemies in a room, you can skip through boss rooms, you can go through locked doors without transforming into a key, you can get to final boss area without collecting any blood vials. This discovery has turned a 26 minute run into a 7 minute run… and because of that I feel that it should be its own category apart from the classic “superscope%” (now item%) that Fluffytoycoy did 5 years ago.

The new category that uses the player 2 select button to skip rooms and mini bosses is “any%” because it seems that using controller 2 is purely for debugging and natsume left it in for some reason. this category will be a simple catch all for any and all exploits, or glitches, or warps.

So to be clear any% glitchless: beat the game as intended, finding the needed items, and all 7 blood vials, without using any debug exploit in the run.

item% (previously known as superscope%): you press any button on controller 2 on the 2nd screen where the net is, to get all items. go through the mansion, find 7 blood vials and beat the game!

any%: use controller 2 to get all items, and press select to skip through rooms/locked doors/ mini bosses and continue to final boss.

Looking forward to new runs in the future, im always open to suggestions so feel free to let me know what you’re thinking, and good luck on that final boss… she’s the worst.

I thought Mark Davis was a dumb trend, but then I got the rom. I felt the cast, I felt it on my finger, I felt the rush of a good bass strike. It changed me. I got my Mark Davis ironically, but I was wrong. Its amazing, I'm smarter, more productive, more focused at work, a simple task is now much better. Outsiders dont get it, they dont get us. I'm not saying were better but were more open minded and probably smarter. I love this community, and I love this way of life.

the shooting game just keeps looping at faster speeds (which the run ends this game early), dj isnt really a game, the running/hurdles game seems okay, but maybe include the mashing of A button to raise the flag after you finish the level? (not done in the run) and ball just seems like a high score thing, (that wasnt done in the run) also not sure whats up with watching the credits for more than half the run. also the credits are very different from NA release to JP release.

just wanted to see if anyone out there has any ideas on a legit route as this might be a goofy fun game to do if it had an actual end game, but at the moment it just seems pretty random.

edit: what version of superboy/emulator is rather important i think due to the clocking difference of time with the super gameboy 1 vs the super gameboy 2

hi there! so i was watching the current wr run on normal mode and noticed it looked to be a bit faster with the animations, so i ended up pulling 2 other runs to compare the auto scroller section. in theory they should be pretty close to the same time... upon review the PC version is about 15 seconds faster.

here is the video i made up real quick. i lined them up to be on the first frame that the cart lands and is fully level. the fightcade co op video is a bit choppy. (i could record that level myself on fightcare if needed) but it starts at the same time as the others.

maybe a deeper dive can happen but i wanted to open this up for discussion and see if anyone has any thoughts

Hi there, just wanted to throw this out there in a thread instead of just adding this as a rule but it seems that the mister fpga plays the game a bit faster than the snes, ive watched runs, and i also own one so i did a small amount of comparison in blue door.

both videos start on the frame that the boss health bar starts to fly away.

i put in a request for the devs on snes core for mister so we will see what happens but apparently it is on a game to game basis. so for the time being i would say that runs on the mister probably are a no go for this game.

if anyone would like to dive deeper and give input that would be cool, thanks!
