The port of MGX1 on PC is similar to the PS2 version of MGX1. There's already a run or two done on PC. It doesn't play anything like the MSX original.

It wasn't until 2018 that people started trying to optimize categories other then The Boss Extreme. The entire history of this game as a speedrun up until this year was on TBE.

We of the Metal Gear Speedrunning community would like to request somethings. Namely, the removal of Mr_Snawk and Dareka as series moderators for MGS on Speedrun.com

First off, Snawk is not an active member of the community. While he has times, he doesn't do any communication with anyone, nor does he show any community outreach. He and Dareka were the lone moderators for Snake's Revenge and it took Snawk a month to verify Plywood's Snake's Revege submission.

Secondly, I have never once spoken to Dareka. I have tried, but never gotten a response. And the fact that he has power over most of the major MGS games. Is a bit concerning.

With their removal I would also like to request that me and Stealth_Edge, be given series moderator status on all MGS games. For no reason, when I became series moderator due to inactivty from the (still) current series mod team, I didn't get added for any of the 2d games, including Snake's Revenge (of which only snawk and dareka can moderate, despite not knowing anything about the game)

This is something that needs to be done. Neither of these people are willing to step to the plate for the community and put in the work. They need to be removed. Thank you in advance for reading and considering this proposition.

The only items you cannot use in a run are the Infinity Bandanna and Stealth Camo. all other NG+ items are fair game.

It's too arbitrary to add as an official category, I could make it miscellaneous, you're free to submit a run with those restrictions regardless, you'll just be slower then most of the other times.

Not that I know of, but it's best to ask some of the runners / people with knowledge about the game (strafemachine) and watch a lot of runs. That should help. Maybe someone will make a guide someday.

Excited to see these runs. Maybe it'll get me back into grinding IL's again. Good luck on the rest of them.

dude holy shit, how many times does it need to be said, if you have a "problem" with the mgs leaderboards fucking talk to me. i said earlier i moderate it. besides, for most of the popular mgs speedgames, we have runs separated by difficulty, im not sure what you're mad about.

whats funnier is Peace Walker has no difficulty adjustment, so him posting PW literally did nothing.

I'd be down to test it, but what system has the MSX2 version of MG2? And also, would the Green Beret "skip" work on HD Collection / MGS3 Subsistence version?

1. Yes you could record your run with a camera pointed at the screen, thats fine.

2. I'm not sure how many strats work on the 3ds version. In theory, they SHOULD all work, but I've never played the 3ds version so I wouldn't know.

This is a known warp glitch, and it's not inventory based (I believe) as Pykn was able to do it back when he was doing New Game FOXHOUND attempts. If you could get a video of it that would be great, because if we could replicate it, it would save time in NG First Ending FOXHOUND and First Ending Any%

Hello I would like to request series mod for the Metal Gear series. One of the current mods is very inactive on MGS and barely verifies any runs and doesn't actually do anything. The other mod has arbitrarily banned Very Easy and Easy difficulty runs from being submitted for MGS2 and MGS4. There's a thread discussing why it makes no sense to ban them and one of the mods has read it or even acknowledged it, I talked to the mod who banned VEasy and Easy in private and he said that he would refuse to change the difficulty ban. Not listening to what people actually want for the board.I want the leaderboards for MGS to be clean and fair for any potential new runners. http://www.speedrun.com/metalgearseries

Azu is correct on NTSC Subsistence and HD Edition. idk about framerate, but i would recommend running on HD Edition and playing thru HDMI as it has faster loads then ps2 version. Gameplay wise there is no difference but you will have higher Real Time and In Game Time if you play on ps2.
