I've seen this across other games too. It's a great idea, and i think it would be especially useful for a game like this.

I feel like i do that anyway when practicing my runs. Falling victim to a trap does increase your time by 2 seconds, and knocks you down. It seems like a ridiculously fun idea though. Considering that we have a "touch grass" and a "death%" category, this would be a great addition to the meme speedruns section. Overall, I think its a great idea.
