Recently, I became interested in speedrunning the game and want to try downloading the pellson practice rom (what I used to do is to load a savestate from my emulator and practice from there, but now I want to actually try speedrunning the game). I have no trouble patching the rom, but when I try to configure the controls for settings like retry, save, and load, nothing happens. I follow the directions below to configure it but the controls still aren't changing. Also, whenever I try to play the game, peach is on the loading screen instead of Mario, thus I'm unable to play the rom at all (that could be related to the issue but idk) Any response is appreciated!
