Leaderboards

Hello everyone! Today's the big day. The SRC leaderboards for Hades II are officially open! Starting now you can submit runs in the following categories:

• Any Fear, with subcategories for Unseeded/Seeded and Underworld/Surface

• 32 Fear, with subcategories for Unseeded/Seeded and Underworld/Surface

• Fresh File, with a subcategory for First Run which will allow IGT submissions.

Rules can be found on the leaderboard page for each category. For discussion you can post on these forums or in our category and rules discussion discord channel.

More categories will be added in the coming weeks and months. If there's a category you're running that isn't represented you can discuss it on the forums or message our moderation team.

There are a ton of new faces around since the release of Hades II Early Access, so I want to point out a handful of the less obvious rules to make sure your submissions go smoothly.

For ALL categories: In-Game Timer must be enabled and the save icon must be visible in your recording. The Book of Shadows cannot be opened while the In-Game Timer is running.

For Unseeded runs: You must include the previous run's death or victory at the start of the video. This is a check to make sure you are running the game on an unknown seed. I think we're all hopeful this won't be required forever but for now it's the least inconvenient method we've got.

We're very excited to see all of your runs! Today also marks the first Hades II Aspect of the Week, a less strict weekly leaderboard run in our community discord.

With Beowulf you want Mirage Shot as soon as possible, so try swapping to Artemis in Asphodel instead of Hermes. We use Meg because it comes out faster than Thanatos and we have setups to guarantee hitting it on important bosses and minibosses.

There's some overall Hades guides as well as some in-depth weapon/aspect/mechanics guides linked within. If you find yourself with more questions after reading through the guides you can ask them here or join the Hades Speedrunning Discord for a faster response.

With the High Confidence mirror option you get a 25% bonus without needing to use your keepsake slot as long as you keep your HP above 80%, so it's not quite a full 40% you're gaining. It's been done a few times especially in High Heat where Stubborn Defiance and LC4 are much more common, though I'm not sure about Fists specifically. Also keep in mind that Hades keepsake at half charge gives you a full 1.5s of the damage buff, the wording on the boon is pretty misleading.

any explanation on how this trick is performed? lot of time left to be saved on movement, might be able to go sub-30

sanitycandy is correct, any run that skips the Hades fight currently doesn't have a place on the leaderboards. That said, you can absolutely optimize a save for that and do some runs if that's how you want to play the game, and if enough people run it I could see us adding a 'Dadless' category either here or in category extensions.
