So I was playing this game again after a year. When I took the first boss I messed up and ended up dying. For some reason this made the door at the end to open instantly after the boss was dead. However you didn't get the heart right away.

Not sure if this would save time, as you do have to die first and the extra heart is pretty handy when you need to damage boost through some spike rooms, especially in the later levels.
