I actually did do my research as there are several versions of Mashed. Mashed: Drive to Survive (the one this leaderboard is for, as it is currently) is the original 2004 release. The one you're thinking of is Mashed: Fully Loaded which is the 2005 release, that is an updated version. I have done my research. There are not enough differences between the 2004 release and the 2005 release to warrant a different leaderboard. The statement about the game being "bug free" is false, as the game, regardless of platform is buggy. Even more so when emulated. There is also a fix for the bug on PC, but as of right now I do not remember what it was.
I'd like to add them, but I don't have an exactly ETA on when that'll be. There's plenty of things I need to go through and some thinking that needs to be done before they're all set in stones. Looking forward to seeing runs from you though! Feel free to do some runs in advance and submit them all at once whenever I add ILs.
I think it's just you. Select any track and then any category and then just press on the Rules button. If you're still not seeing them then there's probably an issue on your end.
thanks for the reminder to lock this, very cool
There is also the fact that you are, no offense, a little too young. We'd also prefer for the moderators of the game to be people who a bit more knowledgeable in how the game works. Also yadda yadda 21 days to verify run.
You do not have to wipe all of the runs, you can document them via a "version" filter which is a lot easier to manage than adding a new category every few months when the handling changes significantly.
depends on your definition of "better"
There is a thing called grandfathering in runs.
I know I'm a bit late, hadn't received a notification that there was any response to the thread, but I'd imagine anything that can be replayable should be in the ILs and if need be we can have two categories, Hotlap and Finish Time
To give a very short answer to why we didn't "address" Random0ne, it's because he came to the Discord and we've spoken to him there. You yourself can also do that which would make conversing with the GENERAL Need for Speedruns community easier, rather than relying on forum posts.
