Its like how some games you need a PC to be competitive. Its unfortunate but its the way it is.
However I think the mods would split the categories if enough people request it. It probably wouldve happened already if more people wanted to run the game without bouncer earlier to release. But with the current activity I dont see it happening.
Yeah, if enough people show interest ill make the category. No point having a leaderboard for one person.
Also you dont need an official category before you do the run, just do it. If you wanna run test your luck or something wack you can, you dont need official categories to speedrun.
Welcome. I dont run the game anymore but still monitor the page.
WR should be free for PC cuz the in game timer doesnt show the time after shinnok, so we have to use real time and PC has faster loads. Glad u got into it tho. I Find fighting game runs to be good to get into speedrunning.
Fair enough. I guess I can't know how active the current moderators are.
In my opinion a game only needs a moderator for every 5-10 runners. Injustice 2 currently only has a handful of active runners, so adding new moderators would achieve no purpose. The only time more moderators is needed is when there are so many runs being submitted that the current group of moderators are unable to review all run submissions within a reasonable time. If we're only getting one run sibmitted a day, 3 moderators is more than sufficient.
I feel if you were added as a moderator the only thing that would change is you wouldnt have to wait for your run to be submitted. Thats all. If thats the case why not make everyone who submits a run be a moderator.
Yeah I really don't see the point of running Test your might lol.
Itd be like only speedrunning the QTE sections in Storymode.
If enough people want to. No point adding categories if only 1 person will submit.
Had a look in the Sprash Discord that was linked in the other thread. But it wasnt well organised; Info and tech interspersed with memes, I couldnt really find what I wanted, even in the crash section.
Is there an NST specific Discord I can get an invite too, or some other way of getting the info I know? Im interested in getting all the info I can, gonna try some fullgame runs soon so I dont wanna miss something crucial.
Also dont wanna spam this forum with questions that may end up unanswered. I dont know how active people are here.
I feel like the tutorial in NRS games has little room to grow. Thats why I never made a category for it in MKX. Theres no variety in the way it can be done. Its almost akin to running a telltale game. Sure u can speed up some sections, but the game itself is setting the pace of the run. I feel it should be the opposite.
Thats my input.
It might just be me, but personally I feel discouraged from continuing to run a game if my runs aren't approved. I like to see my progress archived here and that cant happen if i've got 6 runs waiting to be approved. Its kinda the reason I became a mod for MKX cuz cuboid wasnt active enough to approve runs.
Apologies if I sound like im nagging.
I always tried to approve runs asap. It doesnt feel good having your run in limbo forever. The 2 week rule isnt what you should aim for, its in case you are unable to check so you dont lose mod status. Just check the site at least once a day, even if you dont have time at least you know theres a run waiting so you can get to it when you're free.
I dont know why the stream would affect in game loads. Its not taking much of the PS4's power, if any.
Are load times consistent on the standard game? You were asking if Ryaca had a ps4 pro, so if the regular game has a consistent load time then we can just add that to any PS4 pro runs. We need someone who plays on Xbox to verify if there are any differences on there as well.
i brought up the .9 and .1 issue because, as it stands now its not a big deal. But with fighting games like this, there will eventually become a time where the optimal run is found. Best to get issues like this out of the way sooner than later, before we have runners with runs that are only a second apart.
idk man, I wish Devs would just put IGT IN their games. Would make our lives so much easier.
I wasnt directly responding to ur post just rambling about IGT in NRS games generally speaking. Trying to figure out how to do this fairly and unbiased.
If supers and clashes freeze the clock, why add them? We didnt penalise runs in MKX for getting hit by a wake-up X-ray. I dont quite understand this decision yet.
Problem with IGT is that adding up individual round times is not accurate. Wont be accurate unless u time to the frame. For example if the timer just hit 220, and if it had almost ticked to 219 but still showed 220 u would add both rounds as being 20 seconds, when in reality one was 220.9 seconds and the other was 220.1. By the end of the run, this can make a huge difference. Its why I was hesitant to do IGT on MKX.
Only way I can see this working is if you just manually remove load times, but even that would have to be manually timed to the frame.
I dont know why u want to remove supers though. Unless there is a difference in super length between consoles or something. It interferes slightly with counting round times I guess cuz damage is being dealt when the clock is stopped, but I have issues with timing rounds to begin with/
Sorry this post is kiinda rambly, hope I got my point across.
