The SM64 Hacks link redirects the the same Mediafire link that Kaze used to put the download up.
Hello, I came across this ROM hack when looking for some new games to start running. I went to Kaze's channel to download the hack where I saw that the Mediafire link was taken down. I was wondering if anyone had any other secure website to download the hack.
Hey, I got a down warp in BitDW in a 1 star run. I have never seen anything like this before and I was wondering if anyone had ever seen this.
Here is a video of the down warp:
but a reproduction cart still uses the .fds file stephenHmm
It would be no different than using a flash cart or emulator. For repros the ROM is dumped from an orginal cartridge (or floppy disk in this case) and are burned onto a blank EPROM and put into a board. It's the same ROM and same game as using a ROM for emulator or putting the game on an SD card or CF card for EverDrive or PowerPak.
What do you mean? It's the exact same ROM. That's how repros work. The game is the exact same therefore it should be allowed.
An NES repro would have the exact same ROM loaded on to it as a original cartridge. ROMs would be ripped from the cart (EPROM stuff or something i dont know) and is extracted as a file. So a reproduction cartridge of ANNSMB would be the same as an FDS disk. I'm not sure what the moderators think, but you should be fine with a reproduction.
But in both of those you wouldn't do them anyway in a skips run with or without mushrooms simply because the difficulty and "inconsistentness" of them.
Most of the skips can actually be done without using a mushroom. MG, CM, WGM, GV, BCWii, etc.
I don't play this game much anymore, but this is not something I would ever expect. I thought the mods would at least make and attempt to see if runs like this followed the rules. It's completely understandable to not watch a run in it's entirety if it's over an hour, but at least skim through the run. I thought TheCrazyCroco and NinjasInCarpets were more responsible than this. We need more mods that know what they are doing and aren't that irresponsible.
You can't really have an emulator/3rd party controller so I'd say no.
Why put him at the bottom rather than remove his time from the leaderboards? It's simple. Click his name, there are three dots in the top right corner of the video thing. In those three dots, there is a reject button. @CaptainCamerupt
Tournaments don't typically pull off over 32 players. A lot of factors are key when numerous runners don't want to play. The first and most obvious one is the time. This and the race in April were at 22:00 JST, or 5:00 AM for me. It's difficult for many runners to participate with the time. Plus you have some players who need to go to work early and a few players who don't get the message that a race is happening.
I can't edit the sheet to add myself to the tournament. Is this a mistake or is do I need to ask Kaku to get myself added?
I do agree with AuthorBlues on this topic. Super Mario Brothers had 35 entrees for the levels: 1-1 - 8-4 and -1 - -3. All started as small Mario and finished the level however they can with the fastest time on the timer in the corner. Recently, it was removed for being difficult for mods to accept runs along with the times just being downright stupid. For example, take 4-1. You would enter a pipe that gives a faster ingame time but it would be slower to take RTA. This would be the same thing. Tens and sometimes even hundreds of ILs would be sent in daily and give the mods a lot of runs to accept. If this was implemented like Super Mario Bros. where you start small and finished the level, you would have about 3 times more runs to accept every day with the level count being 96 over the 35 that are in Super Mario Bros. It would be a lot of work for nothing and I disagree on this.
We shouldn't ban emulators. We need to have mods who know what a faked run is and what it looks like. Me, SoloQ, Mav, and Gator all do Super Mario Bros. runs and we know what a faked run looks like. It will be odd having every runner with a mod status, but it will be a good way to avoid faked runs.
