There's a post for it here: https://www.speedrun.com/pd3/forums/mqtrq
Currently theres no sub 1. The fastest overkill rtc run i could find is yours (1:09), and normal difficulty is a 1:08 (Could be a 1:07, but most rtc runners are waiting for a fix for the timers). There's a 1:02 duo run from me and Arustik, which with the new strat could maybe be exactly a minute? But no, as far as there is evidence there is currently no sub 1. Probably just jealousy in the comments!
Pretty sure if your run uses things that later on get patched, it will be removed from the catagory because it would be an unfair advantage to all future runs. Still, I hope they create a catagory or smth called 'No longer possible' that includes all the old runs that are invalid, in which case this run would probably be at the top.
ofcourse thats also pretty annoying (And i assume related to the servers, offline mode would have you instantly leave i think) but its the inconsistency of the starting timer that kills runs. If everyone's has an escape timer that takes longer but its the same for everyone, then at least thats fair. but if everyone's starting timer is different, that is just plain unfair, because faster routes and better runs would somehow have an in game timer 2 seconds slower than an actual slower run.
I havent timed it but the exit times seems to take about 5 seconds for everyone, I don't think there's a difference there
Alternative / faster route found for bashing the door HERE! Not sure if this can be used in Overkill, but worth the experimentation!
There are no rules or catagories yet so it's unclear, but my best guess is this. Currently we have any%s and random seed runs, in the any%s we already ran through the level to check on rng and get hindsight knowledge like knowing the codes or levers, so we can restart and skip entire sections of the level. But with random seeds we do not pre-run the level, so you'd have to figure out pincodes and all that during the run, costing you more time. If you want to do random seed runs, you'd have to restart the lobby and probably show proof of you queueing into a new lobby, but if you wanna do any%s you can just restart the level normally.
Wow thats insane. Im sure that can be used in some runs
might be because the payday servers tend to teleport people around, but maybe you're on to something. ill test it once i start running tts
Thinking about it we could probably have a random seed catagory
probably 'legit run' would be without knowing the vault code before hand
i feel like that would create too many catagories for each heist. there are also other rng factors like keycard locations, room locations, lever locations, etc. to have 4 different qr code locations for gold n shark, over 10 locations for the keycards, and more than 4 different ways to have the panels in the vault just for gold n shark alone would be way too much.
I just finished THIS RUN which is about 4 seconds faster than the second fastest time. The reason this time is about 4 seconds faster than the second fastest time is that, for some reason, Shade skipped the line of dialogue where she tells you to hide the guard’s body, which makes the keypad instantly accessible instead of having to wait. This is also why the end was a bit sloppy: I panicked because I realized I had to take advantage of this skip. Since then I’ve not been able to replicate it. So far I’ve tried: Using the phone at a specific moment to skip the dialogue, shooting the guard while he’s unalerted, standing in specific spots while the dialogue plays, and waiting a little bit before shooting the guard. If you have any other suggestions let me know!
I have a 1:47 solo run HERE. NRFTW is one of the more difficult speedruns since there are 4 main RNG factors (Red keycard room location, keycard color of guards, van spawn, lever spawn) aside from guard patterns and camera locations/patterns. To get that all perfect it would require a lot and a lot of restarting to finally get the RNG, and even then its a very very hard mission to run, especially when delivering the bags to the van. It'd be great if someone found a way to make that final part be more consistent/faster.
Cool! Hadnt payed attention to the overkill runs but it looks like its the exact same run except for the lockpicking of the door in the beginning. I think running up the stairs vs vaulting makes barely any difference in time, but I might test it tomorrow to see whats actually faster.
Hey y'all, in this video I found a skip that skips the animation of putting on the mask. This allows you to do things like vaulting, jumping, and running faster earlier than you should be able to. The guide is in the description but I'll put it here again:
Hold G to start putting on your mask, and before the prompt is finished press E once to bring up the phone. Remember, you can't use the phone while sprinting, so if you wanna do this skip you have to be walking or standing still.
Small edit
If you have motion sensors equipped this doesn't work, since motion sensors don't require a phone to activate, thus pressing E does not pull up the phone.
