Aku is kinda right here. I was the only active verifier for a bit (eventhough I don't play this game and honestly don't care that much for it, but I figured I'd verify people's runs since there was nobody else) untill @zend2018 all of a sudden without my knowledge at all became a super mod for this game. At that point I left cause 1. I don't care enough 2. there was somebody else. But @Akuretaki is very much right in saying that you guys' timing methods sucks. We had very simple rules that used the in game timer to time runs (just like the World of Tanks leaderboard, which I am still a mod for btw) and you basically started doing multiple timing methods at the same time and timing them very badly... Anyway eventhough I don't care for this leaderboard at all I thought I'd have a little say here to clarify my stance on it since aku is a good friend of mine. Have a good day all :D <3
For more information on bots in World of Tanks I recommend watching this video:
It is also worth noting that the Australian servers might also have bots in tier 5 and lower, but I do not have any info on that. If this is true runs done on the Australian servers will be put in the same category as the SA-server.
I have added new categories specifically for the South-American server cluster. The South-American server has bots in tier 5 and lower. This means that comparing these different servers wouldn't be fair. I have not added Upgrade% - SA server categories yet as they would clutter the board. If anyone does a run of Upgrade% on the SA-server however I will add it to the leaderboard.
Thanks for reading this if you do and happy speedrunning and tanking :).
for me it was always almost killing the lt vz 35 and then hope my teammates would kill the tetrarch. I think that had around 50/50 success. It is just a thing that kinda sucks. You could maybe try to shoot the tetrarch when you are moving to the Renault nc-31 and hope for that little change you hit him, but there really isn't a better fast tactic unfortunately
We do in most cases not want to split the board into different versions too much. We only want to this if the Bootcamp in one version can in no way be compared to another version. the equipment 2.0 doesn't change much about the gameplay and the speed of the Bootcamp. It is true that you can't use oil anymore, but I have looked into this in the past and found the difference to not exist. You can look at your PB and compare it to my PB that moving through the water we both have a 54/55 km/ph speed. I don't know why the oil apparently didn't do anything in the Bootcamp but I have seen stranger things in the Bootcamp. (in version 1.10 for example the speed for the bt-2 and m2 light was capped at 30km/ph. This was al of a sudden changed in a later version of 1.10; fortunately, because I was thinking about splitting the board for that as it made the speedrun 30 seconds slower). As such I think we can compare versions 1.9 and 1.11 without a problem.
Oneshot kill is probably too close to the already existing 1 kill category that can be found under misc. as in a lot of cases, this would be the same category. For the getting one-shotted category; I don't think that is a good idea as we don't want to encourage people to just die in random battles.
with "One shot" do you mean one shot of damage or do you mean a one-shot kill?
- you ARE allowed to have modules unlocked that can be unlocked on other tanks.
- UNLESS those tanks come directly after the tank you look at.
So for example the M4A1 comes after the T6 medium. Let's say you want to do a run for the T6 medium. You see that it has the 105mm derp. It can be unlocked on the M4A1, but that doesn't count because it comes after the T6 medium. In this example, you are however still allowed to have the 105mm unlocked but that is because of the M4A3E2 (this tank is in the collector's vehicles tab and you can unlock the gun there). I hope this clarifies things a bit. I am planning on making a sheet that shows what modules are allowed and which are not, but this will take a lot of time so don't expect it anytime soon.
I have removed the categories with no runs (20 kills and 10.000 base-xp). I am going to add some new categories now, because the last ones did quite well (5 new runners and even more runs). We'll try them until 2021 has started and see how they do. For now the new categories will be the following: Tier 5 NG (no bootcamp) Stock grind (split between standard and premium account, and for tier 4 up untill tier 9) (as Bagels requested).
Do you have any more info on this event? Or have you not pushed through this idea? I'd like to hear what you're planning and how it's going
Hmm, I guess. I think if you record the replay as footage and submit the actual replay with it, it is probably fine. We should have enough to verify that it is legit.
Yes, you can definitely do that. Would be cool if more people would come to this leaderboard. I've added 5 categories for now (4 are also split into below tier 5 and tier 5 and above). If one of the new categories has 0/1 runners on 7-11-2020 the category will be removed. No new categories will be added before this date. We will first look at how popular the categories we now have will become.
okay nice, I'll add some categories to the leaderboard later today. We'll keep them for a month or so and then we can see if people like them/do them. If not we'll remove the category. if 2 or 3 people are willing to put time into a category we'll probably keep them.
Also, grand battles should not be allowed in my opinion. It could be another category, but I personally will not do it. If some other people do though we might consider adding it.
I think this is interesting I'll also try some runs later. About the timing method though I think it is best to use the in-game timer (just as we do with the bootcamp).
Before adding any new category ideas from now on we first like to see that people will actually do runs. This is why we for most categories want 3 people to send runs in. So when proposing a new category, run it and make other people do it aswell or ask them on the forum.
