Questions for :the game: TAS

I'm not sure if people check this forum at all, but I've recently made a (rough) TAS of :the game: you can watch here. By RTA timing, the time is 12:12.50, so it is a fair amount faster than the current WR. However I know there's still some room for optimization, and I wanted to ask here to see if anybody knows about a few things that could improve the TAS since I don't think there's really resources about this game aside from this page (although it's hard to say with how hard the game's name makes searching for it).

  • In Communism 2 the game, there's apparently the "Soviet glitch" where you can fall off the platform and end the game early, although it then causes a softlock. The description on this run says it's caused by holding too many buttons at the start of the game, but I wasn't able to reproduce it by either pressing or holding a bunch of buttons when it started. Does anybody know what exactly causes it? I wanted to try to see if it's possible to avoid the softlock so it could be used as a skip, although I don't know how much people have tried on that already.
  • In Capitalism the game, I'm not sure exactly what the condition for breaking the platform and finishing the level is, which would be helpful for knowing what to optimize for in the TAS. Mr. Mary's guide says to collect as much of the money as possible, but the game will end even if you don't collect anything (although it was slower). I also tried decompiling the game and it seemed like there was a trigger based on the characters' hitbox sizes, but from what it looked like to me it shouldn't have been possible to trigger if the player character stayed at the same size, so there must be something I'm missing there. I'm guessing it's either based on a combination of how many bills the player and AIs both pick up (not sure if both are equally weighted) or there's just some timer where the game will end no matter what.
  • In Anime the game, the guide says to hold Up+Left like many of the other levels, and this is seemingly also what the current runs do. However I'm a bit confused since jumping in this level gives you an extra animation, and this was 48 frames slower than just walking off the left when I tested it. Is there some reason for doing this or is this just an oversight in the guide/runs?

Of course, if you know about any other potential timesaves to the TAS, I'd also like to hear about those as well.
