Spinning on Dolphin Emulator

Hello, I am trying to play Super Mario Galaxy on Dolphin Emulator, using a GC controller. I have made a right shoulder button as my "spin" button in the X, Y, and Z axis. I am just wondering if spinning works differently using that button vs. actually spinning with a wii remote? For example, using a technique like Surface Spinning, I see alot of guys out there that say once you have the correct position, you just keep spinning. But no matter what I try, I can't seem to get the spinning inputs correctly. Anyone know what might be going on?

All spin inputs are the exact same no matter how you shake the wiimote. You just need to get the correct timing for the surface swim. Also I'd recommend not playing Galaxy with a Gamecube Controller
