Be this possible that the game Metroid Confrontation is accepted on the site ?
Personally, I wouldn't be against having a page for AM2R and Confrontation. I'll talk to a couple of people about it and get back to you :)
There are plenty of Metroid hacks ( more than 200 ). It´s unnecessary to list all of them, so we coulc only list up the most popular hacks. Also there is already Shinespark Construction, a leaderboard for Metroid hacks: http://shinespark.metroidconstruction.com/index.php
skull64, how would you treat fangames and hacks? I can kind of appreciate wanting to keep the series just for actual games, but I don't think having a separate series is a great solution either. Maybe some kind of subseries structure would be ideal, although that would have to be a feature request.
E_Dragon, Metroid: Confrontation isn't a hack at all. It's a small standalone Game Maker game created by the developer of AM2R to show off his engine before he started releasing demos of the actual game, and it is pretty fun.
What we really need is a notification system so you can see when other people comment on threads you've commented on. <_<
From what I can tell, this system already exists. You can go to any game and click on "ROM Hacks" and it will show the ROM hacks for the game. I don't know enough about 2D metroid romhacks to comment on whether they'd be appropriate. There'd definitely need to be some competition in a game before it gets listed. But the infrastructure is definitely there.
That works fine for SM hacks, but confrontation (and am2r) don't fit neatly into an existing game. With regards to competition I suppose there's not much to go on right now but I'm sure once am2r is released there will be interest in it.
While it's not the neatest way of doing it, AM2R could fit as a Metroid 2 rom hack, which allows it a place in the boards without being on the series page.
I see some people for and others against, let us not forget that AM2R is a version "improved" by Confrontation, and to finish, in the case or finally he is accepted, I post my run here
Sorry I never followed up on this. I think for the moment we'll be keeping this series for official games only. However, am2r has a page here, so I would encourage you to submit Confrontation as its own game and have the two added to a series. :)
