ok so it seems to me except from in game text scrolling such as the art room actual picking up items there is no point in mashing or holding down the action button for the text speed to be increased so im assuming that the text for items is set to one speed and cant be increased is this the case for others ?
Text scrolling is different to RE1 yeah. Text speed generally isn't as increased as holding action in classic RE1.
I still hold confirm when picking up items just out of reflex of playing RE1 so much, either way I don't think it matters too greatly. Or, at least, the text scrolling when holding confirm isn't as much a time save as on the original RE1 anyway.
On emulator (60fps) the Yes/No skip on RE1 is only a 1 frame save anyway, so it was never a large deal to land that either. I think you don't even save 1 second if you land every Yes/No skip in the original RE1 on psxjin. lol
Yes/No skip can still be done on RE1 DS, but its far more difficult than in RE1 it seems. So there is still some timing when picking up items regarding the text it seems.
yeah i have only had the yes/no skip twice so far its either very precise or just timing
