I've been wanting to create an Auto Splitter script for PDTA but I can't manage to understand anything in the game process memory (using Cheat Engine) that could at least signify the start and stop of the speed-run timing. (I was thinking about checking the state of the light indicators, checking for the Delete Savegame action, checking for a counter of Endings reached, …)
If anyone wants to try and find something or work together with me, (I'm not really knowledgeable of this stuff though) maybe we could pull out something nice!
I'm not expecting much from posting here, provided the activity of this forum, but eh, why not?
Alright, I've had a new idea and it looks like I managed to track the DELETE SAVEGAME button state, which seems to be consistently working, the Auto Splitter can now start the timer! (Hopefully forever and for everyone)
However, now we need to find something to detect when we want to stop the timer… I'm still stuck for that.
I think we can just stop the timer ourselves. Whats important is when to start the timer.
I don't know if the script is necessary because if you set the split button to the spacebar, it goes to the next split each time you reset after an ending. But it's a cool concept!
