After watching the current 1st place, I've noticed that the runner is using custom weapons made in Blacksmith mode. This allows him to get a short-ranged, high speed, high damage weapon that can grant wings each time he encounters a
The rules don't say anything about custom weapon and I'd like to know if allowing these weapons should be a separate category or not.
I guess it could be separate categories- but since there are not a lot of players running this game I wonder if it would make sense?
Also I think using black smith weapons adds a lot of fun to the run. I spent a lot of time planning the attributes I should give the weapon and in which stages I should collect them and so on.
So while I‘m not against separate categories I don’t think „blacksmithless“ would add anything interesting to the run.
I'd assume there are some changes in the route but probably not enough to drastically change it we need a route.
I'm also interested on the stats you used for each weapon you made and if you know whether the weapons the horseman give you are random or if they come up in a specific order.
Hey there! This is a good catch; I missed it and that sucks. In general my expectation would be not using blacksmithed weapons in the run - broadly games tend to be run without additional user-created content.
I'm happy to hear y'alls thoughts, though. A community is not one person. :)
I think the order of stages would change quite a bit if you‘d go blacksmithless. You‘d want to use those wings that you get in specific places.
So I don‘t have the exact stats in mind but wings cost a lot already when creating a weapon. The next thing you want is speed - for stunlocking enemies with the beam. But you can do that with regular weapons too. The damage of the beam is always the same no matter how strong or weak the weapon is.
I give 1 or 2 points to durability I think - but it‘s not that important- rest goes to strength. I deplete throw damage completely.
In the options of the game you can set what weapons you get from the horseman. So you can get random weapons from other playes that have been created in blacksmith mode or just your personal weapons. So i set it to personal and only have one weapon designed - that way you always get what you want.
Was thinking about designing 2 weapons and have a little gamble with the horseman but didn’t go trough with it. But could be an interesting strat.
So again I think using blacksmith weapons just adds to the fun of the run.
