I have been getting interested in streaming and was thinking of making the objective of my first stream to rank in the top 100 on the any % leaderboards. However, I noticed this line in the rules:
"Any change of key bindings out of game through the use of any remapping tools/scripts is prohibited."
Which I can understand, but is kind of a non-starter for me since I play on Steam Deck, and use Steam's controller layout to map the gamepad to keyboard controls, since the gamepad controls are very limiting. Even with this, I still feel like playing on the Deck I am at a disadvantage to those playing with keyboard and mouse. Anway, understandable if there is nothing that can be done about this. I just thought that this perspective should be taken into account.
I mean I guess I could switch to gamepad mode and use the default steam controller layout (though technically controls will always be mapped through Steam Controller Layout). Any thoughts?
I might be wrong but i believe the remapping stuff might be specifically remapping multiple buttons to the same button. In any case it would be kind of weird to ban remapping completely simply from an accessibility perspective

I totally agree. And it makes sense to ban macros. But I am wondering whether there are technical difficulties with verifying the tools used or other considerations that have gone into the ban, as it is so broadly written. But if you are right, then the rule should probably be re-written.
Added "But you can rebind in a way that you could in-game already." to the rules to let you use a keyboard with steam deck.
