Activate the Abyss Gate (No.1/11)

Activate Raziel’s Gate (No.2/11)

Activate Melchiah’s Gate (No.3/11)

After Melchiah save & quit

Proceed to Kain normally and pick up a Health Upgrade (No.1/15)

Beat Kain

Head to Zephon’s area 

Get the Gate outside of the double phase door (No.4/11)

After the first JEFF’s & bell ringing there is a block puzzle with a Health Upgrade (No.2/15)

Beat Zephon

Activate Zephon’s Gate (No.5/8)

Warp to the Abyss Gate

Run back to the Sanctuary of the Clans and head to the Sarafan Tomb

Beat Vampire Gandalf

Activate Drowned Abbey Gate (No.6/11)

Beat Rahab

Head back to the Abyss warp gate for more health upgrades

Head left from the Sanctuary of the Clans

In the water there is a Health Upgrade (No.3/15)

Move back up, materialise and run back to the pillars before Zephon’s area

Climb the tall wall for a Health Upgrade (No.4/15)

Move onto the exterior of Zephon’s Keep and dive into the water then head left until you can emerge somewhere else then climb the wall for a Health Upgrade (No.5/15)

Enter the Silenced Cathedral and climb into the air current room for the first Glyph Upgrade (No.1/5)

Jump down the air current and follow the path until there’s a breakable window and a puzzle for the Sound Glyph (No.1/6)

Go back to the exterior and jump into the other side of the moat for a passage

Do the (long) puzzle and claim the Sunlight Glyph (No.2/6)

Save warp and head to the Melchiah Gate

Go in the water and collect the Health Upgrade (No.6/15) & the Force Glyph (No.3/6)

Head back to the main area and swim across to the opposite side of land

Once passed through the metal door use your Wraith Blade on the tomb that has Soul Reaver engraved

The new passage should lead to a Glyph Upgrade (No.2/5)

Immediately head backwards and swim towards the climbable wall for a Health Upgrade (No.7/15)

Dive into the water and use the tunnel directly below and navigate your way through the Skull Village

Jump from the roof to the left side of the mountain

Further down the path aim across the gap at a block & use force projectile to hit it

Continue on the path and do the puzzle for the Stone Glyph (No.4/6)

Backtrack until you’re outside and glide across to the lower platform and scale the wall for a Health Upgrade (No.8/15)

Drop down the wall for another Warp Gate (No.7/11)

Warp to Raziel’s Gate & get the Health Upgrade (No.9/15)

Save warp and head to the Abyss Gate

Jump over the Abyss gap and head northwest for the Human Citadel

Once inside the Citadel you should find a moat


Dive in and shoot a projectile at the grating underneath

The passage eventually leads to a puzzle that gives you the Water Glyph (No.5/6)

Move back and jump over the water to climb a wall for a Health Upgrade (No.10/15)

Jump off and navigate back to the bridge room

Stick to the left, open the doors and activate the Citadel Gate (No.8/11)

Move back to the courtyard and climb the waterfall for a Health Upgrade (No.11/15)

Immediately jump around the windows until you’re at the other side of the main building

Jump across and pull the switch

Hop down, climb the wall, jump the gap, get the Glyph Upgrade (No.3/5)

Return to the main area and head to the left

Once you reach the small river jump across and rotate the switch

Follow the new path and do stuff until you find a Health Upgrade (No.12/15)

Save warp and head to the Abyss Gate

Move over the gap to reach the ruins

Activate Dumah’s Gate (No.9/11)

Beat Dumah

Backtrack to the obelisk before Dumah’s room

Spin his statue twice and enter the new room for a Health Upgrade (No.13/15)

Save warp and head to the Drowned Abbey

Backtrack into the docked boat area

Dive in the water and head right for a cave and a Glyph Upgrade (No.4/5)

Swim back to the Drowned Abbey Gate

Continue through Rahab’s area until the corkscrew

Use Constrict and move the block for a Health Upgrade (No.14/15)

Continue onward until you break the glass underwater

Head down until you reach the Fire Reaver and get it (No.1/1)

Swim back up and navigate through the water until you can see a drop below

Keep right and swim through another passage

Do the fire puzzle to get the Fire Glyph (No.6/6)

Jump into the water and swim to the Spiral staircase

Spin the dial so it faces the right of the lever and head for the last Health Upgrade (No.15/15) 

Spin the dial one more time for the final Glyph Upgrade (No.5/5)

Save warp to Dumah’s gate

Continue normally and activate the Oracle Gate (No.10/11)

Do the level up until the area before Kain

Activate the last Gate (No.11/11)

How to make this game work on Steam/ How to make controllers work

This game is rather unique in that it is one of the few games on steam that can be opened while steam is completely closed. Steam seems to hate this game.
To open the game without it crashing, make sure you have closed steam completely, then navigate to where you installed it and open it in admin mode. Then choose your graphics card and desired resolution. This will open it in full screen.
You can also use things like dxwnd to force it into windowed mode at directx1-6.

If you do not and don't want to use xinput or other software then you can also get it to work via big picture mode. Open BPM, go to the settings and turn on support for your ps4/xbox controller. Navigate to your library, SR1, game config, controller config. Then paste this link into your web browser and it should auto import (it should also work on xbox controllers).

this is the one I use for my PS4 controller and it works correctly.
Whenever you want to play using the controller this way, you need to first open up steam and the controller will connect. Then you can close steam alltogether and open the game.

When you open the game the controller will not work at first. This is expected, navigate to the main menu using keyboard and go to options, then change control keyboard to control gamepad. It should now work.

Hopefully this helps you. I know a lot of people have no idea what they're doing with this game and I spent hours searching through the web to find fixes, but it's annoyingly easy to fix :)

Soul Reaver Any% Glitchless Guide.

This game makes use of jumping, or should I say bunny hopping to move faster.

1. Enter the physical realm.

2. Finish the tutorial.

When you first meet the Dumahim there is a cutscene if you try to push the block. Flip it instead and you won't get the cutscene.

3. Activate the abyss gate
Note - This is the only gate you activate in this run.

4. Get ambushed at raziel's clan entrance.

5. Enter the crypt.

6. Drop the weight.

7. Push block off ledge.

8. Activate the machinery so you can lower the platform.

9. Lower the platform using lever.

10. Burn wood to lower platform.

11. Place fires on inner corner of platform to lower it further.

12. Find and kill Melchiah.
Note - This fight is very easy. After the cutscene starts to begin the fight run to the right and grab the lever. Wait for him to chase you in and as he goes under the gate let go and it will crush him. Pass him, then run a straight line from that gate to the other one, jumping over and through the center as you go. This will make him follow you instead of his ai bugging him around. rinse and repeat with the other lever. Jump into the middle circle and when he comes in jump back out, run to the crank and turn it.

13. Save and quit. Load back in and go to the first gate you activate in the tutorial. Take it to the abyss and go to Kain I.

14. Kain I is a rather simple fight. All you have to do is hit him 3 times. If you do it correctly, the fight will play out the exact same way every single time. Since I suck at explaining, heres a video.

15. Now time for some fun, I introduce to you the Kain 1 skip. This neat little trick changes the route so instead of going to the Cathedral you instead go to the Sarafan Tombs and aquire the telekenesis upgrade. This can knock off around 2-3 minutes if you do it first time, and is more of a risk vs reward skip. It's quite hard to do so you will need to practice it a lot, I can only somewhat consistently do it myself.

16. Once you have done the skip make your way to the Sarafan Tombs, after the cutscene upon entering the open area DO NOT go into the tomb. Instead you will be skipping the majority of this area.

18. Once you have done this skip keep running and you will hit the boss encounter. Kill him and the sword/telekenisis upgrade is yours.

19. Save and quit. Load back in and go to the Silent Cathedrals gate via the tutorial way, remember to do the cutscene skip from the very first instruction otherwise the cutscene will play. Note here that because you now have the reaver the jump is a little harder to do. When you reach the main gate open it.

20. Make your way up the village and enter the Cathedral.

21. Extend the platform so you can pull the lever.
Note - the wraith blade is very important in the Cathedral as it is the quickest way to deal with Zephonim. If you get hit and lose it, it's most likely a considerable time loss. One hit will incapacitate a fledgling, two will incapacitate an adult. Simply press the stab/impale button once they're incapacitated to kill them.

22. Activate the vent so you can fly up.

Note- this pipe is where the third valve is. Where the second valve is, pull out the block so the rubble falls, then go push the pipe.

33. Turn valve II
Note - This is the third valve, just after you push the pipe go turn it.

34. Turn valve III
Note - Now, go back to where the second valve is and push the block to is. Then turn it.

35. Find and Kill Zephon
Run back through the area you just came through to the pipe that flows upwards, on your way back you will notice a torch on the floor just before you reach said pipe. Become physical and grab it, then head to Zephon.
Note - this fight is also pretty simple. Chuck the torch just to the right of his egg sac and then either wait for one of his legs to attack you and hit it or run up to him and slash the egg sac, he will scream and lay an egg which will automatically set on fire because of the torch. Grab the egg and chuck it at him. Rinse and repeat twice.

36. Don't save and quit, instead run back the way you came and take your first left. Activate the teleporter and teleport to the bridge. Once at the bridge teleporter head to the bridge and get hit by the Dumahim so you don't have full health. You will need it for the next jump. Don't forget to skip the cutscene trigger again.

37. Now you want to head to the ruins. Jump over the first gap towards the ruins, then you are going to have to do a specific jump. This video explains it better, but you must crouch walk to the very corner of where I jump from. Crouch jump, spread your wings at the right moment and grab onto a very specific part of the ledge. It's a hard jump to do if you don't know it properly.

38. Once past here continue down the path until you reach the pool. You alo need to do a couple specific jumps and hopefully land/grab the edge. This one is much easier than the previous one.

39. Enter the ruins.

40. Block puzzle before furnace.
Note - The way to do this puzzle in the run is different than how you could normally do it. It involes stacking three blocks on top of each other, dragging them out four spaces, jumping onto the blocks and then to the platform.

41. Turn on furnace.

42. Lower the bridge.

43. Push the pillar to open Dumah's room.

44. Find and kill Dumah.
Note - This fight is very simple, stay close to Dumah and let him chase you all the way to the furnace. Turn it on again and he dies. Be careful though, he will stop and try to slam the ground. You can listen for when he stops running and you must be in the air when he slams the ground. You can listen for audio cues.

45. Spin the sundial.

46. Do the block puzzle.

48. Go back to the entrance, do the cutscene and then spin the fire.

54. Find and defeat Kain II.
Note - This fight is actually quite easy as well, and Kain requires three hits. One each cycle, kain will teleport out and in. The trick is to stand still until you hear him teleporting in and for the first two times you hit him he will teleport opposite you. After you hit him a second time he will go to the top most platform. If you stand still after that cutscene and listen for when he starts teleporting he should be two platforms to your right. Hopefully this video might show it better.

I know there aren't many runners for these games especially glitchless being that it's such a long run, but I wanted to make sure that if any new people ever wanted to run this game the resources were available for them.
