I thought it would be fun to start perfecting a map room run. As this is the moment you get the house-specific achievement (on steam at least), and you have to run it several times to get all of those achievements, I found myself starting to optimize.
I used the Hogsmeade skip someone else posted to shave off some seconds, but I was on the Gryffindor run, so the house-specific quest is not ideal (I found Ravenclaw to be fastest as you can floo to Olivander's)
I also found some neat things that you guys probably already know about: Some slow-walk sequences can be rolled through Rolling through doors grants significant time gains as it doesn't play the animation Hogsmeade skip is godsend, but don't get too far away from natsai after gathering lacewing / Prof. Moon, or she won't start pathing. Story mode is not ideal for time, as the DAtDA assignment to roll/incendio is slower. I do this assignment during the merlin trial tutorial, and the enemies just stand there on the easiest difficult. Normal is probably fastest overall, even considering the increased damage in story mode.
All in all, I got 1:36:14 from game launch (post character creation) to the map room achievement (if you already have the achievement, it's the moment the jackdaw quest complete splash pops), but this can definitely be optimized.
Yeah I figured this would be a category when I first looked up this game, genuinely surprised it isn't yet.
It is a category now, it is on the category extensions.
The Hogwarts Legacy Category Extensions Leaderboards are officially open for runs starting from today! You can find those boards and all the new categories here:
