Hello there! I am new to speedrunning and decided that I wanted to start with Star Allies. I was wondering if there was some sort of discord you all use in case I have some questions on the game. I am kinda at a loss as to where to begin.
If you're starting out I'd recommend doing Guest Stars for the time being for 2 reasons:
- The strats are very similar but Guest Stars is more effective for practicing and seeing your progress
- Dark Meta Knight is likely to change the route so it's better to wait for him
If you don't care about getting really good and just want to do runs then you might want to wait. Normally I'd reccommend watching WR but I did my run without any practice and with a broken controller on the basis that new route = free PB. I'll try to do another run ASAP (Today?)

I would instead recommend running Ultimate Choice Sizzling Threat, then Soul Melter to improve your skills at the game. I’d recommend using Bluster Meta Knight at first, and once you get a sub 3:00 time, you should be ready to try the Poppy Bros Jr. Strat (there are obsoleted runs just above 2:00 with video, guides in he guides section, and a pinned post on how to do it). Hey Demolition14, I was wondering, why is it that you think Dark Meta Knight might change the route? He likely won’t recieve abilities, likely won’t be able to move as fast as Fire Shuttle Loop, and will definitely not get a higher max DPS than Poppy Bros Jr. The only other way I can think it might change a route is if it’s Guest Stars level layout is quicker but it’s equally as possible that Daroach or Adeline will be faster. Is there something I’m missing?
if dmk has a shuttle loop, we’ll be able to get him at the first dream palace as opposed to MK at the end of the second world. more fire shuttle loops = faster time
I thought he would be faster because in Triple Deluxe during his boss fight he can Shuttle Loop, so he would Shuttle Loop in this game However, looking at the latest info on Dark Meta Knight, it's looking less like he can Shuttle Loop, due to his Dash Attack and Aerial Dash Attack being copies form the Mirror ability in Planet Robobot and not copied over from Meta Knight
Do you think you could send me a link to the DMK info you mentioned, please? I can’t find anything on it. And also I think that even if he has Shuttle Loop it may not matter much because he may not be able to recieve elements, making the Shuttle Loop useless.
Okay, thanks, those two attacks seem a lot like mirror’s from Planet Robobot, so for me it seems like the air attack is not a neutral dash air attack, but a down air attack or a dash-down air attack. So, since there is no mobility based air attack shown yet, and Shuttle loop was an attack in one of his boss fights, it seems reasonable that he might still get Shuttle Loop, possibly an edited one though, which could be good or bad.
