Hey everyone,
About a month ago, sh2_luck released a patch for the Original PS2 Versions of Kingdom Hearts 1 that allowed for cutscenes to be skipped. Final Mix PS2 support was not included in the previously released patch version, but as of this release version Final Mix PS2 is now supported!
Sh2_Luck has turned the patch into an All-in-one .ELF file, meaning we no longer need to use the Cheat Device program, .pnach files, or any sort of cheat codes directly on our end. Once the .ELF file has been booted, this .ELF can detect which version of KH1 you are attempting to play (1-E, 1-J, or 1-FM), and automatically boot the game with the patches applied.
The patch utilizes the existing Skip Event option that was present within the game upon re-watching a cutscene. It can now be activated immediately without the need to rewatch the scene, and any scenes that did not give this option prior are now skippable as well. All of the previously unskippable scenes from 1FM HD such as the post-behemoth scene or Belle meeting with Beast for example, are all skippable in this version.
In addition to the normal Disc support, OPL Support is included in the patch, allowing for the patch to be played on Console with HDD for fast loading times. Emulator support is also included.
A subcategory variable has been made for this patch in the PS2 Category, labeled "CSR" (Cutscene Remover). All original, unmodified Final Mix PS2 runs have remained under the "No CSR" variable.
Here is the updated Installation Tutorial and Video Demonstration of the patch and its features. All downloads can be found in the video description and in the Resources tab of the leaderboard page under "Patches".
