I would like to go for glitchless, or play the intended course instead of fly across the sky with an explosive, but i only see those kinds of runs. if there is a glitchless, can you please direct me to it. if there isn't, how much of a burden would it be to make a glitchless category?
I think it's just that it's kinda hard to figure out what counts as a "glitch" as they're all mostly just exploits, obviously Double Crouch and the clip in Escape 1 and 2 are glitches, but everything else isn't really a glitch after that, I guess there could technically be a category where the clips in Escape 1 and 2 are out, but that would kinda be pointless considering it only effects like 2 of the levels and the Double Crouch glitch is already banned in the main category.
i mean play the level how it was intended, or follow the path. so in sky 0, you would have to follow the beam and jump the platforms, not fly into the milk from an explosion.
that wouldn't really work, for levels like sb0, sb1, sb2, and esc3, there are too many available paths to choose one 'intended path'.
so for those four, there would be no change. but for the other ones, there would be one path.
idk, enforcing slower routes kinda goes against the purpose of speedrunning imo
poppy playtime no major glitches is there so that the people who can't do the big glitches can still speedrun and actually have a chance at being in first.
thats different than speedrunning karlson. poppy's playtime is a game that uses walls to keep players on an intended path. in karlson (for the most part) there are no walls/barriers keeping you from skipping the whole map
i know this, i had just used it as an example. i feel that me and other people would rather spend time actually playing the level, than play one to 5 seconds of a part of the level, and would do better because some people do not like to constantly practice one very complex glitch.
you can speedrun using the intended route, how you run is entirely up to you, but if you don't put the time in to learn the fastest routes & the glitches that allow runners to get the fastest times, then you won't find yourself at the top of the leaderboards unfortunately.
“Oops! You accidentally skipped a single platform in Sky 0 in your “glitchless” run! Rejected!”
Is what I imagine submissions would be like, don’t even bother with this lol.
Karlson is going to have a tournament! This year we're counting with 32 competitors - 4 times the amount of last year's tourney! All matches for round one have been scheduled as follows (all times are in the GMT timezone):
