Hi, I've been trying to do a speed run on atelier Shallie but I have a few questions as to timing. The page says that the time starts at character selection and ends at credit rolls but there is a run already on this website that is timed from start of the game (even before it loads) to after credit roll. This is making me confused as to how to time a possible speed run on this game.
One more thing, I downloaded the extra map for this game but I don't plan to use it. Should I still list the download content?
I still haven't cleaned up Shallie from when the previous moderator was there so that's where there are some odd rulings left over. I've changed it so that NG timing starts on New Game selection and ends on 2nd Fin. NG+ I've kept the old rules since you skip the prologue and apparently ending credits too(?). If you think the end timing should be different let me know. The other PS3 Ateliers have the day limit so ending on FIN makes more sense, but here it's a little odd since there's no day limit.
Also, I'd like your opinion on whether or not the characters should be separate categories or not. As someone who ran Escha and Logy, the original moderator had the main characters as separate categories which I disagreed with so I got it changed and added it as a variable. As someone who doesn't run Shallie (yet) I can't say the same for this game.
You can go ahead and list the map for the download content if you think it'd be useful for someone else to speedrun the game.
Thanks for the reply. For the timing I did think that the previous rules should had cover the pre-chapter portion since its a good 12~13 minutes. I'm not sure where it should end though but I'll go with the rules they seem more fair then before. For the other part keeping the characters separate is not a bad idea, since they have different life task and different synthesis skills. In the run I did I used the get rich synthesis skill of Shallote a lot. This is a skill that the other Shallie doesn't have.
